Before 2 years ago I had never had a urinary tract infection. Since the birth of my second daughter, I have had symptoms about 5-6 times. However, the culture is always negative but they do find blood. I am looking for thoughts on what might be going on. I am seeing a urologis in a few weekst, but my OBGYN's office is being sooooo vague and that is sort of scary as my mind goes to places like kidney disease and cancer. Thanks..

What can I do next?

Research Interstitial cystitis and see if that is what you have.

Hi S.M. I know when cranberry juice wasn't working for me and I thought it was everything else possible, I found this ad helpful. Don't know if you're big on antibiotics but I'm copying and pasting the info below in hopes that it helps! If this doesn't work, I suggest you definitely get a second opinion. Good luck :)

"If you have experienced a urinary tract infection (UTI) in your lifetime, treat yourself to a $25 Amazon gift card. [http://almatica.com/macro/macrodantin.html] You deserve it!

UTIs account for nearly 10 million doctor visits annually, and one in five women will have at least one UTI in her lifetime, according to the National Kidney Foundation. A UTI occurs when bacteria enter the urinary tract and multiply.

Antibiotics can treat most UTIs successfully, but the type of antibiotics prescribed will depend on several factors, such as the cause of the infection, the type of antibiotic and other medical conditions.
If you experience any of the following symptoms that typically indicate a UTI, you should consider seeing your doctor.
• An urgent need to urinate, often with very little urinate passed
• A burning feeling while urinating
• Cloudy or blood-tinged urine
• Urine with a strong odor

My friend, the bus driver, always had blood in her urine and finally they attributed a lot of it to the up and down beating motion that she had as a bus driver. She had so many problems and was so scared because her grandmother died from kidney cancer. Another friend of mine told her to drink about 4 oz. of the 100% cranberry juice every hour for 3 or 4 days. It cleared it all up and she was so excited. I would try this and start taking a probiotic from the health food store.

sounds to me like your obgyn may have left something in you after your
last delivery, and that is either causing or encouraging the uti"s. get a second opinion. and a exam by another doctors group if the first doctor either left something behind in there or messed up something, then he is not going to find anything wrong with his own work (of course)a obgyn that will admit he made a mistake is about as rare as a honest lawyer.my obgyn, DR. H, with va.phy. for women decided to claim in writing that i was retarded, and instead of talking to me about his supposed concerns, he shared his supposed insights with the entire nicu and newborn nursery staff
i even got a housecall from social services because of this jerk claiming
that i was retarded

How are your bowel movments? Are you having 2 to 3 a day which are nice size? If not find a colon hydrotherapist and have some session. Are you taking any mineral? If not try taking some liquid mineral. The/your body sounds like it depleted of minerals and a good possibility that you might have Candida therefore Colon Hydrotherapy is great for that and many other health issues

I think you should have them check your hormone levels... you can have vaginal issues that involve hormone imbalance.
