Recommendations on Double Strollers?

I have the Graco Quattro Duo stroller. Its signifigantly smaller than the duoglider so it fits great in any car. Its a front to back stroller with lots of cargo space on the bottom and lots of cupand snack holders. I love it!!! My girls are 18 mo apart. I couldn't go anywhere without it! I think it was around $220.

My twin girls are 18 months old and we've been using the Graco DuoGlide--it's front to back. I can't go anywhere/do any shopping with the girls by myself without a stroller, so I like the front to back because we can get around stores (imagine how close racks are in a department store) much more easily. A friend of mine has a very nice side-by-side, but she can't even get into a number of stores because the doors aren't wide enough for the stroller. BTW my husband is almost 7 feet tall and he doesn't have a problem with the handle height.

If you don't mind used, check out Craigslist and see if you can find a used BOB stroller. They're fantastic and everyone that I know of that has one, loves it and wouldn't want anything else. They're jogging strollers (easier to steer). I'm in the exact same position as you (daughter will be 20 months in January, baby boy due January 18th) and we're hoping to get a BOB by the time spring hits.

I was in the same boat as you when we had our third child. I think it's important for kids to walk as much as possibly slowly eliminating the stroller when they reach two years old. This wasn't an issue when our middle child was born because we used the same stroller as we did with our first daughter. Our oldest is very well-behaved and not much of a concern. But when our third was born I was concerned I'd never be able to leave the house because our middle child (2 years) is a bit of a handful and not like our oldest. I needed to be able to restrain her in a stroller if I needed and be in control of at least two children.

I went online and fell in love with the sit-n-stand stroller from baby trend. It's not majorly huge like the full two seater stroller and allows the older child freedom of either sitting or standing and you can strap the second child in if needed. This also takes an infant carrier as well for the new baby. Works great! I even got free shipping. It might have cost around $400 or so but I also bought a new infant seat as well that matched the stroller, and happy that I did. It's great and works ideal for our family. My middle child (2) likes to use the platform as a scooter and she pushes her one foot on the street while holding on and has the other foot on the platform. This stroller allows her to be as active as she needs or offers her a seat to sit and watch when we are out and about.

Take a look at the Sit n' Stand stroller with the double seat feature in the One Step Ahead catalog (or online). It's a front-back stroller that converts to a sit n' stand when the older kid is ready. My kids are 23 months apart, and my older daughter is really phasing out of the stroller (she gets bored), so the sit n' stand really comes in handy. Plus, it's cheap (less than $200).

I have a friend who got a BOB and loves it, but I don't know how much more use I would get out of a regular double.

My son was 22 months when my daughter was born and we got the MacLaren Twin Traveller. Love it! It will accomodate a newborn and it has boots (attachable cover) that pull up over the kids in the winter. It has a great turning radius and fits through all standard doorways. I am 5'9" and my husband 6'3". It works fine for both of us. It is a little pricey, but we got a color that was being discontinued or something, so it was a little cheaper. I think it runs around $300, but we got it for $260 or something like that.

There are benefits to the side by side, and the front to back. Make sure that if you do a front to back, that the front does not have a big plastic bar attached permanently to the front. It seems like a good safety feature at the time, but the kids outgrow it way too fast.

I have twin girls and have used both side by side & front/back strollers. I feel they each have their disadvantages and advantages. I prefer the side to side. I can't speak to a stroller recommendation for taller dads; however, I wanted to throw my 2 cents. I do not recommend getting a Combi. I have a Combi, used it less than one year and has totally fallen apart. When I called the company back in July, they had me take pictures of the 4 areas that were falling apart, send them in then they went to quality improvement. What they came back with was that they would send me new parts, which i would have to pay S& H on, plus figure out how to replace/install them myself, and I am still waiting on those parts. So proceed with caution on the Combi. I have heard MacClaren brand is great. Good luck!

I have the Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller and I love it!! I am shorter and my husband is taller and we can both push it easily. I love the way the handles are. Check it out on www.gracobaby.com I have the Graco Infant Safe Seat - so it is bigger and it fits great! One of my girlfriends (her kids are almost the same age as mine) and she has this stroller and loves it also. It is a front to back - but it's easy to fold and easy to get around in! Plus it was only a little over $200 at babies r us! Another friend has the sit and stand and dosen't like it as well. She thinks it would work better if her son was older - they are only 26 months apart.

My family is just moving to the area, but we have 6 year old twins and we have a Graco stroller side-by-side that was never used. Would you be interested in buying it?

I also am in love with the graco quattro! It is front to back, but it is wonderful. I have two girlfriends that each have one as well because they were pushing mine around and thought it was great.

No snack trays, but a friend of mine who has twins, of course they are all grown up now, didn't have the money for a double stroller so her husband bought two umbrella strollers and tied them togeter side by side with plastic tie wraps. Cheep, easy and when you don't need two strollers, easy to seperate.

side by sides are harder i have one and it dont get through a lot of doors so i just went and bought a sit and stand. my son and daughter are 25 months apart so i still use it other wise my son is gone and cant find him or anything i love it

I'd check out craigslist.com. I've been getting a ton of baby stuff at more than half off. And, since people only use the stuff for like a year or two, it's all practically brand new! I got a 2 year old Britax Marathon for $50. They're like $200 -$300 new. You may have to watch it for a while but you have a few months to find your perfect stroller. Good Luck!

I would suggest the brand Maclarren seriously, it's worth the money. There are alot of copycat brands and look alikes but none come close to the way the Maclarren pushes, turns etc. It's also a better stroller for tall parents.

i HAVE HAD 2 DOUBLE STROLLERS. THE FIRST ONE WAS ONE IN FRONT OF THE OTHER AND NOW I HAVE A SIDE BY SIDE. THE 1ST ONE WAS MORE NARROW BUT WAS A PAIN TO MANUEVER AND THE SIDE BY SIDE IS WIDE (SO CHECK THE PATH YOU ARE TAKING FIRST!) BUT I LOVE IT. GOOD LUCK SEARCHING, I BOUGHT BOTH OF MINE USED.

try checking out goodwills/thriftstores etc.i know we all love new-but in these days prices its tough-if you search long enough-you will find good-clean strollers at these places-i dont really think it matters if its side by side or back to front.the travel is still the same-good luck
