Hi, As I am preparing to return to work in about two months I am beginning my Infant/Child Care search, but have been unsuccessful in finding one I am 110% happy with. Please let me know if you have any recommedations on infant/child care centers or even home day care in the Santa Clara area. I work in Mountain View and my husband works in downtown San Jose. so potentially the day care can be anywhere in between.

Thanks!

Hi M.,

I don't want to be a wet sock so to speak, but you won't be 110% happy with anyone. We researched and decided on a daycare center opposed to in home daycare for accountability reasons etc. They do a great job BUT not 110% perfect like I would like or would do at home. I just wanted to give you a little warning. It is really hard leaving your child with someone (other than family) and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It helps that my daughter is 1 now and looks to be having fun and is growing and developing great. She goes to Action Day Primary Plus is San Jose, but might be too far for you. Good luck.

I dont think you will be 110% happy with anyone that you dont know personally. I was lucky to stay home with my daughter until she was 4. During that time, I worked as a nanny for a family. It gave the kids the interaction, but helped the parents feel like their chid/ren were getting the attention needed during those wonderful first years.

When it came time for her to go to a daycare center, we enrolled her at Action Day Primary Plus (Moorpark campus) and she loved it. She now attends their amber Elementary school. When we were looking at daycares, we looks at the demographics of the school, where it was located, the hours, the diversity of the children, etc. I also took my daughter with me and did visits to see how she would interact not just with the other kids, but with the staff as well.

You might want to look into a nanny or a small in home daycare.

Let me know if you have any questions I could answer for you!

Well, I am extremeley happy with my child care provider. I have posted her name and info. previously. She is energetic, loving and engaging. The children love, love, love her. She has raised some personable, responsible, intelligent children of her own and truly has a gift. She is in the Cambrian area of San Jose, near 85 and 17. My older daugher just started pre-school, but loved her time with Janis and my younger (2 1/2) daughter loves going still. Janis O'Hare ###-###-####. I have referred people previously and they love her also.
