Recommendation for a Good Stroller

Congrats on your pregnancy! I'm in the same boat--my daughter is 4... and I'm 4 months along. I feel like there are 10,000 new strollers out there ever since I had my daughter. We used the Peg Perego Pliko 3 and LOVED it. It's a little heavy but I love it, I too have a maclaren quest in the trunk just for quick uses like a short trip to the mall (specially now). I'm planning on getting the Peg perego uno because it's like a carriage but your don't need to take it apart like the bugaboo or other carrige like strollers ( like one of the moms mentioned). I have the pliko p3 for my 8 month old baby and although I feel is one of the safest out there, I have to say that after trying my friends Graco I realized how heavy it is. I won't necessarily recommend the Graco, but you should try other brands like the Bugaboo. And look for one with a single handle instead of the two handles in the pliko, which is one of the features I really don't like - single handle makes easier to maneuver with just one hand.

I always recommend going to Babies R Us and trying out every single stroller there to see which is easiest for you to use and meets your needs. Once you find the one you want, you can check on line for better prices or different colors. I also recommend the Baby Bargains Book - which gives lots of good advice on which strollers are the best value and have the best features.

I used the Peg Perego Uno stroller for my son. This stroller is great because it can easily convert to a carriage. When my son was a newborn, I constantly used it in this position. I liked the fact that it can convert to a carriage without removing any attachments (like the bugaboo). It has a fairly large basket underneath and has a cup holder (though, it doesn't fit all size cups). I still use this stroller for my son in our neighborhood when walking our dog. I put cheerios in the snack tray and my son loves it. However, I keep a Maclaren quest in my car for mall trips, car trips and errands. It's light and does not take up a lot of room.

My first child is now 4.5 months and we also wanted a lightweight stroller. I have a BOB Revolution jogging stroller with the infant car seat adapter and a Graco Snap-N-Go. The BOB is awesome. We are one of the few people who walk in LA and it handles beautifully on all the terrain. The Snap-N-Go is definitely light, but compared to the BOB it feels cheap - the alignment is off and it doesn't absorb shock well at all. Both serve their own purpose and I'm still happy that we went this way instead of with a whole travel system. Now, we're planning a trip to London (she'll be 7 months) and we are trying to figure out what the best travel stroller is.
