Reasonable Suite Hotel in Northwest Austin/Arboretum Area

We're going to visit some family in North Austin at the beginning of June, and I'm trying to find a quiet and clean hotel that will be comfortable for us and our 18-month-old son. Alot of the hotels that list themselves as offering suites appear to have only rooms with those short, half walls between the bed and the living area. What we need is a suite that has a bedroom separated from the living area by a door so that our son can sleep separately from us. We haven't all slept in the same room since he was 3.5 months old. We shared a bedroom with him at a lake house recently, and none of us got much sleep. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations on hotels in Austin, or even hotel chains that offer suites with separate bedrooms, please respond!!

So What Happened?

Thanks so much to all the wonderful recommendations on suites/hotels in Austin. Unfortunately, we weren't able to book any rooms at the recommended hotels, thanks to the biker convention that occurred the same weekend we were there. The bikers took all the suites!!!! Can you believe that??? Embassy Suites in the Arborteum would have been our first choice. However, we ended up with a room at the Austin/Round Rock Residence Inn, which was nice, clean, and quiet, but it did not have a separate bedroom. The one bedroom suites were all taken, I'm sure by bikers! ; ) We made this room work by placing our pack 'n play in the kitchenette area which was as far from the bed as we could place it. We'll book months earlier next time!!!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites Hotel in north Austin on I-35 and were happy with it. At the time, my daughter was 2 months old and we were able to put her to sleep in the pack n' play in the bedroom and we were out in the living room area and able to watch TV and talk. They definitely have two separate rooms there. We also told them we had a baby and were put in a room at the end of the hall.

We've stayed at Embassy Suites in different cities and are usually very happy with them. A breakfast buffet is included in the room rate.

There is also a newer Embassy Suites near the Arboretum in Austin.

Best of luck,
M.

S.,

Check and see if there is a comfort suites near where you will be staying. We are traveling to memphis and the one there actually has 1 bedroom suites. They have the ones with dividers also listed as 1 room suite. Make sure you look for a room that says 1 bedroom not just one room. Hope this helps.

We recently took our daughter with us to Austin and we stayed at the Embassy Suites at the Arboretum. It was great!! We had our own rooms and it was really nice. The breakfast was great, too because I could send my husband to get our food and we were able to eat in our room. There was also a fridge for her food. We are taking a family vacation and will be staying at the Embassy Suites again since it worked out so well!! Good luck and enjoy Austin!! Hook 'em Horns!!

Look for a Drury Inn. They have a door between rooms, a kitchenette with fridge, and free snacks in the lobby. Very kid friendly.

Hi S.! Try Embassy Suites. They have separate living rooms with a little table and the sofa turns into a bed. They also have complimentary happy hour with drinks from 5:30 - 7:30 and snacks. Also included is complimentary breakfast, made to order. It's delicious. I always try to stay at Embassy Suites when I travel (which is a lot) and they're customer service is great!

there is a nice Embassy Suites downtown. Rates are around $150.00 I believe. Embassy seems to be the ONLY place with an actual separate room - they are great even for my family of 6!

Hi S.-
I just booked a suite for my family at the Embassy Suites in the Arboretum for $149/night. They say that their suites have the door between the rooms so you will have a room separate from your son. We are traveling with our 19 month old and have felt your same pain of sleeping in the same room on trips and I hope this will be totally worth it.

Best of luck!
