Re: Sippy Cups

The tilty cup by far! I handed this to my daughter when she was 7 months and there was no training involved. She got it right away. I had previously bought some other cups with hard tips and rubber tips and she just played with it and chewed on the rubber. She'll be two this week and she still uses it! The infant teacher at her school reccomends it to all the parents now b/c of my daughter. You can get them online or at buy buy baby if you have that store. I think The website is www.tiltycup .com. Read up on it. I think they are like $6.95 for 2 cups.

We use playtex too and love them!

I use the Kleen Kanteens with sippy adaptors because I like to avoid the plastic. You can also convert to a regular loop top or sport top as he gets older, which is nice. I use them with sport tops for my six-year-old daughter's lunch box because they are just the right size! You can order them at a couple of sites online. :)

He will let you know which one he will use. We tried 12 different brands and types before we found one our son liked. We started with the cheap ones at WalMart since they have 2 different types and went from there. Our son decided he liked the Nuks the best which was the last one we tried.

Got to agree with the Playtex.

By the way, smart daycare. There really is no reason to have a bottle past 12 months.

My son never really cared for sippy cups at that age - he much preferred (aside from nursing) to drink straight out of a cup (very messy) and often through a straw (somewhat less messy). I tried all types of sippy cups, but he has only now, at 17 months, started to warm up to them. He uses the cup with a rubber-like plastic straw that flips up and down. I only mention this because I want you to know that it is totally normal if he doesn't take to sippy cups.

We went straight, to the straw cups. My son never took to sippys. He likes Munchkin straw cups and Playtex straw cups.
