Hi Moms! My family and I are getting ready to move into the West Chester/Hamilton area from Dayton, and I am in desparate need of ideas on children's activities and other family ideas in this area? We have no idea where anything is, other than grocery stores, and local shopping establishments, but I didn't know if there were any local activities for kids? And is there a 'Mother's Day Out' location around here? Any ideas and support would be great! Thanks!

What can I do next?

The public Library's always have things going on, plus we have a TON of great parks! Voice of America is a very popular one! There are also great indoor play areas! Some being Go Play Cafe, Sharon Woods, etc. In all of the local grocery stores they have a BIG magazine (Usually on the way out the doors) It has TONS of ideas, plus different special date activites. Summer is a BIG festival time for Cincinnati!! Just about every church has a festival and most are very nice! I have been in the Cincinnati Area all my life and in the West Chester area for a couple years now! Feel free to get back to me with any other questions! Welcome to the area!!!!!

Check out this website http://modmamas.thevillage.com It is tons of Moms from the Cincinnati/tri-state area specifically. I know there are several that live in West Chester. It is actually my goal to live there soon but we have to sell our house first. Anyway, at the website we set up all kinds of Mom dates and parties and play dates and you are always welcome to set up something of your own. I think you will really love it should you join the website.

Hi S.. I live in Mason, OH and moved here in summer, 2007. I belong to the local chapter of Mothers & More. It is a life saver in helping moms meet other moms and kids/families and also learning more about the area, preschools, schools, doctors, etc. etc.. The website to the local chapter is http://www.geocities.com/mothersandmorecinti/index.html.

One of the nice things about this organization is that it is national, with 100s of chapters across the country if you should ever move again. I was part of another chapter before moving here and it really made the transition easier. We have a lot of moms from the West Chester/Liberty Twp. area!

Hi S. - West Chester is a good central location--you'll be able to do fun things in Dayton still, but it will be easier to take advantage of all that Cincinati has to offer, which is lots! When the weather gets warmer, your son will love "Parky's Ark." It's a great little-kid's water play area (not a pool) in Winton Woods, and it's free. There is also a petting farm in Winton Woods. Of course, the kids museum in the Cincinnati Museum Center is great, as is the Cinti Zoo. I know it sounds odd to recommend a grocery store as entertainment, but if you've never been to Jungle Jim's in Fairfield, you gotta go! Your son will love Elvis the Lion, the singing bees, and Robin Hood!
