Question About the Fisher Price Roll-Arounds Gumball Machine

My daughter got this for her birthday from my sister. I had suggested it after seeing it at my children's cousins house. One thing that bothers me is that there isn't a tray at the bottom and when the balls come out they roll across the floor... well, for whatever reason, I looked up the product on Toys r Us (I think I just wanted to check something in the description) and what do I see in the picture online... a tray at the bottom to catch the balls! So, I'm looking all over online to see if I threw a piece away or something and I'm seeing pictures of the gumball machine with a tray and some (like ours and our cousin's) without a tray. Did Fisher Price update this item with a tray and we happened to get an older model or was there a tray hidden in the packaging that I threw away? Sorry if this is a dumb question but it's driving me nuts wondering.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

When I looked at more pictures online, some have a tray but most do not. I don't even see where you could even fit one. I took a good look at a picture of a child playing with the model with the tray and it definately looks like something I would have noticed missing if there was one. The date on the bottom of the toy is 2005 so that kinda goes with the responses I'm getting so far. What's odd is it was just purchased a few days ago so it must be older inventory. I just hate catching balls that roll all over. What doesn't help is I have all hardwood floors and my house is over 200 years old so the floors are uneven so these balls just roll everywhere. Ugh!

your question made me go rummage through pictures hoping to see the one my son had in the background.... I found it and there's NO tray. So he would've gotten his in 2005 or 2006. They must've gotten wiser and changed the model. :-)

It's not a dumb question : )

Did you throw away the box it came in, too? If you have it look and see what it says it included. If you don't have the box but have the model # (should be on the toy) go to Fisher-Price's website and look for an 800 contact number to call and ask them. Call them whether you find the model number or not and ask, possibly they haven't changed the design and it always included a tray and they will send you a replacement one.

Thanks for asking this question. we got a hand-me down, and I love it except for digging the balls from everywhere. I'm getting ready to pass it on, and now I'm going to call first and see if there's a tray!

My kids had that toy a few years ago, and it did not have a tray to catch the gumballs, so you may have gotten an older model if the new ones have a tray. You can always look up the Fisher Price phone # online and call to ask about it.

We got ours about 6 years ago, and it has a tray. We have kept it for our additional children.
