I know this question sounds silly, but I was a tomboy growing up :) When I put a dress and tights on my daughter, do I skip the little bloomers/panties or put them over the tights? Thanks ladies!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much ladies! I appreciate all the advice. Yesterday, we went without the bloomers. But today we're wearing them over the tights just to change it up a bit.

Personally I would put them OVER the tights! Then when she is wearing undies (later on) I would put them under the tights. But I have only a boy. At a school party (Halloween) I found myself in the Kindergarten bathroom with 5 little girls, 5 pairs of tights and 10 glittery shoes -- in charge of getting them all dressed! My nightmare! LOL

I saw the responses to your question and I think you are set with advice. I dressed my daughter in every pink and frilly and cute when she was a baby and now she is a tomboy and refuses to wear dresses or any cute, trendy clothes. I am heartbroken. I am hoping she grows out of this!

Right over the tights :) IT will be cute and help keep the tights up :) Everyone wants to see those cute little ruffles they put on them :)

she's only 10 months old, SHE doesn't care how she looks, so you can skip the bloomers, but if you're worried abou how it looks to everyone else (OK, so everyone knows she's wearing a diaper, why hide it?), get "rumba" tights with the fluffy lace on the back.

I agree ... I do daiper, tights, and a daiper cover (bloomers). It also helps the tights stay in place while they crawl around & play!

Very simple: bloomers over tights, panties under tights.

Best of luck!

I don't think it is a silly question....But the anwser is simple...it is up to you really...sometimes they look so cute when they have the bloomers on top of the tights...and sometimes the dress & tights look cute...either way...whichever you like

Hi Becky, When you have tights you don't need the pretty little "butt ruffles". Some tights have them already. The pretty little ruffled panites are for the summer when you don't need tights and are using pretty socks they are just to hide the diapers.

While she is still in pampers, the bloomers go over the tights. Once she is potty trained, I do panties, then tights, then bloomers. The bloomers are really just for show and to cover her pamper or panties. Plus, they usually match the dress. Have fun playing dress up with her and all the cute little girl clothes! :)

Diaper, then tights, then bloomers.

Also if you have her in a jumper-type dress that requires a shirt to go under it you can put her in a onsie-style shirt and snap the onsie outside of the tights. It'll look sort of like bloomers and the best part is it will keep those darn tights up! (I have 2 boys, but babysit for a baby girl and that is what my friend does.)

It's really up to you. I have three girls, and honestly I don't think I used bloomers more than once or twice with the youngest and not all that often with the older ones. When they're babies, I don't think it's that huge a deal to just have the tights or even just the diaper under the dress. In the summer maybe use it more, but not absolutely necessary. Once they get a little older, I try to buy more skorts (skirts with built in shorts) so they can still play on the playground, etc. but still have their girl-y look. For church and such they just wear dresses with undies and tights when necessary, but leggings or bloomers/shorts under if out playing. Not a silly question, but not something to worry too much about either. Just enjoy that she can't argue with you over the outfits yet!

I love your question! Glad you're dressing your little girl like a cutie little girl! And the panties/diaper go under the tights...lacy diaper covers and bloomers go over 'cause they're made to just look cute. I love those lacy-butt ones - adorable!
