Hello - we are blessed with a new home and one adjustment to make is that my husband wants our boys to share a room to bond and grow up that way - Which is fine they already get along great but my almost 3 year old DOESNT sleep and my concern is will he keep his brother from getting the sleep he needs? Will this work itself out by itself, or does anyone have any great suggestions for us ?

What can I do next?

Welcome to Nevada! This is the 3rd time I've lived here and have been here now since 2004.

I think the boys would be fine with the same room! They'll let you know when they need space. I used to sleep in my brother's room by choice (I had my own room) when we were small and I do think it promotes closeness.

E. I'm like your husband where I would keep the boys together for now. When my girls were small they shared a room, yes some times my younger one would be signing and would keep the older one up, but just like if your husband is reading in bed with you, you do fall asleep. My girls are 21 and 19 and they now share an apartment away at school, they go to different schools in Santa Barbara. They started having their own rooms around age 10, just because the older one said needed her own space for her stuff. (that's when the fights about she is in my stuff started because of different rooms). When they were together it didn't happen so much, they shared more.
Good luck and welcome to NV, I've lived here for 2 yrs now.

My girls are 5 and 3 and share a room also. It will work itself out. The first few days were a breeze. We had a few rough patches (one waking the other up) but now they love it. We have a spare room for those just in case days that they don't want to be together.
