Pure Organic Coconut Oil as a Night Cream

I have recently did some research looking for a good cream that I can put on my face, arms and hands every night. I read a long article about using organic coconut oil. I started do this a few weeks ago and so far it has worked out. My skin really drinks in the oil each night. I have also been using it as a pre-shampoo conditioner. I was wondering if anyone else has used this and what their results were after a few months.
TY in advance.

So What Happened?

I would like to that everyone who shared their information. I now plan to continue using the Coconut Oil as a night cream and as a moisturizer on my arms. I am going to try taking a tablespoon of the oil every morning. If it helps with digestion what can it hurt. God Bless each and everyone of you great moms. S.

I'm very familiar to the benefits of coconut oil. Personally, I can use it in my hair and on my body but not on my face because it made me break out. But it's extremely good for the skin and much better than the stuff (moisturizers, body butters, etc) you buy off the shelt at the store. They're filled full of petrol chemicals and things like lanolin that will not allow the skin to breathe. I had a very good experience but the thing I hate about it is that unless it's the summer and you don't have the air conditioning on, it's solid like a rock. I had a problem scraping it out of the jar. I guess it's not as convenient as a regular jar of cream but that's about the worst thing I can say about it. It's also very healthy to cook with. If you haven't read about that, I recommend you read up on it because there are a lot of health benefits to digesting it too. Happy coconutting! >: )

Hi S.- I use organic coconut oil on my face & body as a moisterizer and it works really well for me. I have sensitive skin and it really has helped to eliminate dry/red patches that I used to get on my face-- I think mainly because it doesn't have chemicals in it like store-bought moisterizers have. I use mineral powder make-up though, which prevents my face from being greasy after I apply the coconut oil in the morning, otherwise it may be too greasy during the day if you don't wear make-up or if you use liquid make-up. In any case, I feel good about using a chemical-free product on my face & body and only wished that my dermatologist would have recommended something like this to me years ago. :)

Hi S.! I am so disappointed that people have tried to sell their products to you instead of answer your question.

I use coconut oil on my skin and drink a tablespoon of coconut oil, melted in tea, every morning to keep my scalp from being dry. After using coconut oil, my skin is so wonderful that I don't need any foundation for my face. I have no dry skin for the first time in my life.
After drinking it, my hair and scalp are much better and I have so much more energy!

My 2 year old pulled a chair down on herself and cut her lip badly. It didn't need stitches but it hurt and it looked like it would scar. I used coconut oil instead of neosporin(I couldn't find the neosporin anywhere!) and it healed in 2 DAYS with no scar!

Don't use products with petrolatum or mineral oil. They will only make your skin drier in the long run. Those products are also absorbed into the skin and can harm your body.

Hi S.,
I have not used coconut oil as a night cream, I do instead use Mary Kay Products. I would suggest that you try their Extra Emollient Night Cream. It Helps maintain the natural moisture of the face and replenishes hydration in especially dry areas such as hands, elbows and feet. It Contains petrolatum, beeswax and mineral oil to help protect, condition and seal in moisture. If you would like a free sample please contact me or visit my website for more details www.marykay.com/mjones80162
Have a great day!

I also use pure organic coconut oil on my skin and I love it! I have had a lot of trouble with commercial products no matter how "pure" and "organic" they are said to be.

My skin is very soft and I have had no dryness problems since I started using it. The skin is your body's biggest organ and you definitely absorb things through your skin. Anything in a lotion is going to end up in your bloodstream!

Coconut is a food, so using pure, food-grade coconut oil is wonderful. It's moisturizing and good for you! AND, natural!

Good for you for going organic! I do love coconut oil but I too use it for cooking - just a little too heavy for my skin but I do use 100% CERTIFIED organically formulated products for my skin, hair and body. There is a body milk that has coconut oil in it and it smells and feels divine!

I'd be happy to share this line with you! From cosmetics, to household products to probiotics. Have never felt better. Here's to your success on your journey to health!
