I delt with pupps with my first for the last probably month. I am 18 1/2 weeks pregnant and have been dealing with them on and off again but this time since about 6 weeks into my pregnancy. Besides calomine lotion that only works temp is there anything else y'all have found that works. I did oatmeal baths with my first that helped some but with a toddler I can't really spend all my days in a tub. Not like I would be left alone anyways. ;o) :::itch itch scratch scratch::: Thanks for you help in advance. :)

What can I do next?

I feel for you. I also had it through the last half of my pregnancy. I used Sarna and that seemed to work better than most products. Mine was so bad my doctor prescribed steriods but even that didn't help much. I liked cool baths and ice packs to help through the worst of it. My doctor also said I could take childrens Benedryl but ask your doctor. I hope you find something that works.

Oh No! I am so sorry. I had Pupps with my first but not until later in my pregnancy. That isnt something I would wish on my worst enemy. There isnt any cure for Pupps except to have the baby. I was able to take some steriods but so early in your pregnancy I am not sure the dr would go that route with you.
I had benedryl lotion as well ~ it was some relief.

I wish I better things to say but just know this too shall pass!

I developed PUPPS in my 34th week of my first pregnancy and was able to get rid of it COMPLETELY by my 36th week! It was ridiculous. Luckily, I had already read about it and recalled how rare it was, so I jumped on the internet right away- even before I got in for an OB appointment. It started on my stomach and stayed there for a few days. Then sure enough spread to my arms, thighs and legs. Behind my knees was the worst! I tried everything. On day 4 of PUPPS I had already gone to Whole Foods and bought organic dandelion root. After 6 days of the dandelion root I was getting better and stopped taking it! Within 4 days of stopping the dandelion root my PUPPS was completely gone. I had a daily routine of cold shower- vinegar- calamine- desitin- menthol rub (for flair ups/ hot spots) which I repeated every few hours. It was excruciating, but the dandelion was the answer. THANK GOD!!!!!

Hi A.,

I had know idea what happened to me one night, I woke up from a nap & looked down & I had big welps all over my body & couldn't stop itching. I immediately called my OB & he prescribed some pills called Hydroxezine(spelling??). I loved it. I took it when I first started seeing them & within a few hours they were gone & so was the itching. You might want to check with your dr. to see if that is even an option. But it worked great for me. Good Luck!!

I had pupps very early when I was pregnant with my daughter,18wks.This is something I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy also! The allergist and ob prescriped zyrtec-it's safe to use during your pregnancy, and the dermatologist gave me a steriod shot(when I was just absolutley climbing out of my skin) and Olux foam----this foam is awesome!! The nurse told me to not take a warm bath or shower, only cool water..The heat will cause the pores of the pupps to open and itch worse. And I also ended up wearing my husband's soft t-shirt and pj pants when I was at home..Any loose or soft clothing that couldn't to touch or itch the skin.
Hang in there!!

Ask your dr. if you can take benadryl. I got to take it and it was the only thing that helped, but I got pupps a week before my due date, so I don't know if you can use it as early as you are.

Hi A.,

With my first pregnancy I had to go to an Urgent Care place one night because I couldn't take the itching and hives. They gave me a shot of steroids and some to take home (pills) and it really, really helped a ton, and almost immediately.

Good luck - this is such a horrible thing to deal with!
