I'm still kind of new around here but I love how freely the advice flows!!! SO! riddle me this batgirls...my pubic bone is killing me!!!!! (creepy way to die huh) anyway, I'm beginning my 3rd trimester and I know that this can be a common complaint, but how in the world am I supposed to make it 10 more weeks with this pain. (caused by stretching and relaxing of ligaments...cartlidge inflamed...tylenol not great for my previous liver issues...any ideas? Thanks a bunch!

What can I do next?

you know as the baby gets bigger, it's going to be more painful. I saw on tv where they sewed the womb closed to keep the baby from dropping so quickly and for the pain. this was on baby delivery.

I had that same problem. What worked for me was a maternity belt. I wore that thing most of my 3rd trimester but actually felt comfy enough to take it off about the last month. Good luck!

see a chiropractor. what you are describing is commonly seen in chiropractic offices and frequently resolved quickly. if you need a recommendation for one, email me and i'll find you someone in your area.
have a great day!

CHIROPRACTOR!!! Life Saver for me!!! Also the advice for the tummy belts and warm baths will combined help as well. I know w/ a child already @ home it will be hard, but I would try and lay flat as much as possible to get weight off those ligaments. If you're in that much pain husband and family should step up and give you a break!

Good luck!

p.s. If those ligaments are in a bind that could make labor a real tough issue. Not to freak you out, but a chiropractor could get all that straightened out!

K.,

I also had similar pain with my second pregnancy. My doctor suggested to use the maternity belt. It helped tremendously. My insurance even covered it so that was even better! I had to wear the belt from about 2 months into the pregnancy. (That was the longest 8.5 months of my life.) I also had restless leg syndrome REALLY bad with both of my kids. If I wore the belt at night it helped this for some reason too.

I would suggest Dr. Alyssa-Rae Zonarich @ First Choice Chiropractic specializes in pregnancy care. You might try her, she offers a free consult and I think first visit to Pregnant moms.

I am sure you have told your dr... but they make a belt that alot of PG women wear... It helps to LIFT the tummy up and not rub...

I had it bad both times.. YES it hurts.. but The belt helps!!! Do ask your dr about it.. I have seen it in catalogs at Pennys too....

But make sure it is ok.. and you will feel better!!!

Good luck!!

I had this problem with my second son from about month six... I would suggest sleeping on your side with a body pillow between your legs, and lying that way to rest whenever possible. Find out from your doctor if it is safe for you to take ibuprofen or any other over the counter pain relief med. that won't affect your liver condition. Other than that the other suggestion I would have is possibly seeing a massage therapist to try and relax some of your other joint pain too.

Sweetie,
I wish I had some advice. To me, the end of my pregnancies were just pure torture because of that pain your talking about. And man if it wasn't 10 times worse if I drove anyplace. Getting out of the vehicle was horrible. I couldn't go anyplace for more then 10 minutes at a time.

I wonder if you could soak in a hot tub of epsom salts? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt you. I just don't know if it would help.

I would also try getting on all fours and rocking back and forth, it helps to get the weight off ur back and stretches u out and takes the pressure off

I hate to say this...but...I do not agree w/ the chiropractor advice. I have gone through five pregnancies and found that prenatal yoga is the best for getting your body stretched out and out of a lot of the pubic pain you are experiencing. What worked the best for me are the squats. Make sure you are holding on to something as you go into your squat. With each pregnancy the soreness seemed to get a little worse. Stay off your feet as much as possible since the weight of your growing uterus is putting pressure on your already tender pelvic area.
Good luck, and watch out for that sciatic nerve (however it is spelled).

With my son a friend suggested I use a pilates ball to sit on. It helped tremendously, but a word of caution sit next to something to help you get back up! I also used it for labor when it came time for delivery it really helped with breathing and such...

Hi,
Doesn't sound like you are too comfortable... the only thing I can recommend is a heating pad... I actually use a thing called a rice baby... It's a clothe bag of rice basically that you can heat up in the microwave or put in the freezer depending on if you want hot or cold. The good thing about it is that I don't have to worry about leaving a heating pad on, or a water thing breaking, and you can heat it to your desired level. I'm not sure where you can buy them now... I got one a long time ago when I was a kid and now my family just makes them. I know it sounds kind of strange but it got me through my first pregnancy and I'm already having to use it on my lower back for this pregnancy and I'm only 21 weeks but with twins. I hope this helps. If you want I can tell you how to make it.. and you can make them as big or small as you want to cover any amount of area. Good luck!

I had a Dr that did OMT (you can google "OMT DO" to find out more!). He actually put my back into place and relieved all my pain. If you want a OBGYN that does OMT you need to find a D.O. not an M.D. because D.O.s are taught OMT while M.D.s are not and in many cases think it is a joke. You will have to ask the Dr if her does OMT or not because about 1/6th of the D.O. Drs specialize in it, and you will need a specialist while preg.
