I was wondering if there were any moms out there of high school sophomores or higher. Have any of you had your child take any PSAT/SAT prep classes, and did you think they were worth it? If so, is there one anyone might recommend in the West Valley? Thanks so much for your time!

We used collegeboard.com for my step-daughter who is currently a Senior. They have online prep tests and writing samples to review. I thought it was good, but if your son's are really high achievers and can absorb/remember the information they would probably benefit from taking a class.

Hi S.- I am a mom of 17, 16, 12 1/2 and 5 year old. My 17 year old is a junior in high school. He is taking the kaplan course and is scheduled to take the SATS on May 3rd. We live in Northridge and my husband researched different courses. My son is taking the Kaplan course. I hope this helps you a little. Good luck!!

after you have done the PSAt or plan, evaluate the situation. They say repeated tests are the best practice. However, our understanding is that boys do better on ACT and our son did! We did Act (private) tutoring for science and his score went from 21 to 28! However, it is very expensive...He never did the SAT's and was accepted to Chapman, Emerson and Loyola!!!

S.,

I am the mom of a 2 year old and the stepmom of a 16 and 13 year old and the PSATs are definitely worht it as it allows them to practice how to "test" for the SATS' as well as my friends 11 year old daughter has also tested and they use the archived Sats for practice

My sister is a tutor for these tests. I know her students have improved scores by quite a bit. Her name is Audra Crane you can reach here at ###-###-####. If nothing else she could answer any questions you might have.
Good luck,
E.
