Mammas,
I am looking for a new preschool for my 3 year old next fall. He current attends a Montessori School and I am becoming very disenchanted with the school. He currently goes three days a week and I would like to send him 5 days next year. We are expecting our second in May. I would like something that has a good curriculum, but still lets them be three. My school really seems to be lacking in this. I am also hoping to stay under 600 a month. School hours from 9-2 if available. We live in the North Dallas area and I'm willing to travel a little ways for the right fit. Thanks for the help mommas!

What can I do next?

My son (3) goes to Temple Shalom preschool at Hillcrest and Alpha. We did Montessori last year - we moved him due to changes in my work schedule - but I am really glad we did. It is much more nurturing and friendly. He loves it. The school is accredited thoug the Early Childhood Education organization so there is learning going on as well.

It is a Jewish pre-school and there weekly services. We are not Jewish but don't find it a problem. Overall - we love it.

Good luck with your decision

If you are willing to travel to Allen I would suggest Kids R Kids of West Allen. It is a brand new school with a beautiful building and an amazing staff. Most of the teachers are certified and the curriculum allows a lot more room for creativity than other schools we looked at. Good luck!

Hi K.,

My name is Kristie Beveridge and I am the owner of Primrose School of Forest Creek and North Plano. I would love to give you a tour either of my schools. Our program sounds just like what you are looking for. We maintain our classrooms below state ratio allowing for more one on one time. Our curriculum is written just for Primrose and is CITA/SACS accredited. This accreditation is the same accreditation that colleges, public and private schools must maintain to remain in operation. It is proof to you as the parent that we are truly teaching your child an educational curriculum. We complete three assessments on your child thru out the year. This is followed by a parent/teacher conference to discuss strengths and weaknesses along with goals to get your child to that next level. I noticed that you would like the part-time schedule which is something else we offer. Please swing by our web-sites and check it out for yourself. Please give me a call if you have any other questions that I may be able to answer. I had both of my children enrolled in the Primrose program while I was a corporate Mom. Both of them are leaps and bounds better off than where they would have been without that foundation.

I am looking forward to hearing from you,
Kristie Beveridge

We took our daughter's to some Mother's Day Out program you might want to check with some church's in your area to see if they have a MDO program. Usually the church's have a wonderful curriculum.
