We are newer to the Henderson/Green Valley area and are looking for a cheaper preschool for our 4-year-old son. I would appreciate any suggestions of some good preschools.

Call Charlene Neves. She currently has a home daycare in Summerlin and my daughter went there from 7 months to 2 YO. She was great. She is opening a daycare in the Henderson area in June

Lighthouse Academy is a wonderful preschool! We put 1 of our boys in when he was 4 and he loved it. I was afraid that he wouldnt do well because he had never even had a babysitter before! He was only ever watched by his Grandma (who lived with us). The teachers there are all so awesome! We just put our other son in the baby class, he is only 7 months. The student/teacher ratio is 3:1, unlike a lot of other preschools that are 4:1. They are located on Horizon Ridge Pkwy and Carnegie. (btw Eastern and Green Valley Pkwy) Good Luck!

My son goes to Angels Christian Academy at Sunridge Heights and Eastern. I am very happy with it. The teachers are good and my son loves going there so much he is upset on the weekends that he can't go.

We have also used Kiddie Academy on Coronado Center. I don't have anything bad to say about it, the teachers and director were nice, but my son had a fit every day when I dropped him off. We switched to Angels because they have a kindergarten program that I wanted to get him in to and now he hardly even says goodbye when I drop him off, he's so excited to be there.

My daughter went to Creative Kids on Wigwam. We had some issues with them, but at that time it was the only center in the area so we were stuck. That was about 4-5 years ago so I can't really say what it's like now.

My son, who is 3 and a half, has been attending Seton Academy (on Placid between Silverado Ranch and Pyle) since October and loves it! This school has been around since 1963. Wonderful staff and it's more preschool than traditional daycare. The school day is 9-3:30 with before and after school care (which what I do...so I can get him there as early as 7am and pick him up as late as 6pm depending on how my workday schedule is). I can tell you my little guy has learned so much since he started there! I'd say it's not far off, price wise with traditional daycare, but I feel like we get far more bang for our dollars with this school.

I am about to start looking for preschools myself and just heard about one called Junior Junction in Henderson. It is off the 95 and Horizon. My friend just signed her son up there after many recommendations and said that it is $190 a month for 3 mornings a week. That is by far the cheapest I have heard of. We are going to check it out this week. Hope you find what you're looking for!
