My doctor is at Presby Plano and says he will only deliver there. Does anyone have any experiences to share about this hospital? Just want to make sure this is the right place for me!

What can I do next?

Hi. I like to PM when i'm about to disagree with all the happy deliveries at Plano Presby. I delivered there with my first baby in '06 and had a terrible experience. All but one nurse was incredibly rude. Nothing was working on me for pain meds so I had to keep trying diff stuff. Finally a shot in the booty was the only thing to work. so I would ask for it. They kept bringing me the pills. For 2 full days I asked for the shot and got it twice!! My doc ordered it for me. I don't know why the resistance. The day after delivery the morphine (or whatever it was) IV had slipped from my vein and my arm was burning. I told the nurse at like 3 am and she said it was fine. After several calls to the nurses and lots of burning pain in my arm, there was finally a shift change. But it still took til 10 am for someone to realize my arm was balling up like a golf ball around the IV. I actually lied to the doc and told him I felt fine and was passing gas fine and begged to leave early. He agreed and this was a Weds. I didn't pass gas until Sat. i'm not trying to scare you. I just wanted you to know my experience. That was just a few things that happened there besides the broken hosp room door that they were constantly sending people in to fix and look at it. I delivered my son this past October at Med Ctr Plano and it was such a wonderful experience I begged to stay an extra day. ALL the nurses were excellent. I forgot to tell you I had a c-sect with both and at Presby I had an epidural AND spinal block. it all wore off after 3 hours!! At Med Ctr I had an epidural only and it lasted forever. I was very nervous about that but the anesthiologist did an amazing job. I didn't even know she put it in. So with my 2 experiences in the past couple years I would 100 percent recommend Med Ctr Plano. Good luck. let me know who you chose

I have delivered there and at Trinity in Carrollton. I loved them both. You can always go and take a tour too. Just call and schedule it. That will make you feel better.

I actually chose my hospital first and then my doctor. I loved Presby Plano. It's ranked as one of the top hospitals to give birth in in Texas. I have still never felt one contraction and I have a 14 month old son! It was a great experience for me.

I spent 6 weeks last summer on bed rest at presby plano, delivered there, spent one week post partum and the baby was in the NICU for 8 days. I have to say that this is the BEST place to be if you're having a baby!! The staff were wonderful, took excellent care of me and the baby, but were also very concerned about my hubby and daughter. Congrats on your coming addition!
