Hi D.,
I, too, went to Sweet Pea and loved it! I took several classes of Corinne's and Meredith. My husband also treated me to a prenatal massage with Corinne that was heaven!!

any recs. for a prenatal Yoga or Pilates class. Does anyone have any opinion on the prenatal yoga clas at Lakeshore Athletic club versus going to a class at a studio such as Bloom Yoga studio (which I have heard good things about).

I have been going to Bloom yoga for two years and know the prenatal instructor quite well (her name is Dee). You could not find a better qualified instructor for a pre natal class. She is supportive, knowledgable, and fun! There is so much to take advantage of at a studio like Bloom. They have many resources for the mom-to-be. I only wish I had discovered them while I was pregnant!! Good Luck!

Hi D.. The previous post mentioned Frog Temple, I am fairly certain it is closed or at least moved. Bloom Yoga and Yogaview have great prenatal classes in my opinion. There is an instructor named Dee who teaches all over the city at Yogaview and several others and she is fantastic. I was told to check out Sweetpea Studios, which I did, however I wanted more of a challenging practice and I felt like I got more from the other two studios. Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

I highly recommend the prenatal yoga classes at Bloom Studio with Dee. They helped save my sanity as well as my back when I was carrying my gigantic baby girl!
My first pregnancy I went to Sweet Pea studio. I thought that it wasn't really a "workout" more of talking and getting in touch with your baby. So I went to a few classes and still gained 40 lbs! This time around I'm going to the Lincoln Park Athletic club and LOVE it! Much more of what I was looking for. I feel like I get a good work out but it's still not as hard as a regular class. Good Luck!
I did prenatal yoga at Bloom with Dee on Wednesday mornings throughout my pregnancy and just loved it. I never had back pain and Dee was really helpful with any issues that cropped up. Plus, with her exercises and guidance I was able to deliver an 8 lb 8 oz baby drug-free with no tearing! Yeah yoga!
I don't know about either of those classes, but I did prenatal pilates at Frog Temple in Bucktown when I was pregnant with my son - I really liked it a lot.
I had a great experience with the prenatal yoga classes at Sweet Pea Studios on Ravenswood/Grace. My instructor was Marti and she was really focused on yoga (not just talking about the baby and the birth experience, etc). It felt like a nice, safe workout.

Good Luck!
Corrine at Sweet Peas Yoga is wonderful. I really loved her class when I was pregnant, she is a beautiful person, so the energy in the class is good.
sweetpea's studio on ravenswood, just north of addison is excellent! I loved it because it is 90 minutes, with the first 30 being discussion about a pregnancy topic with the instructor and the other moms (back pain, sleeping, breastfeeding, delivery comfort measures, etc.).
I've had two children (3 and 19 months) and I did a lot of yoga while pregnant with both. I can't speak to Lakeshore Athletic Club but I LOVED my classes at Sweet Pea Studio on the 3700 block of Ravenswood. It's such a wonderful place and is geared at educating and supporting pregant and new moms in every way. I LOVED IT. I also took prenatal classes at Bloom and still take classes there and it, too, is wonderful.
