last year I gave away my old Christmas tree and bought a pre-light one from sears. a few days before christmas a section of the lights went out. thankfully the receipt had not expired and the week after christmas i was able to take the tree back to sears and they refunded my money.
this year i would like to have better luck! does anyone have a christmas tree that their lights have not gone out on? my friend bought one from hobby lobby and HALF of their tree doesn't work after only one year!
Are their any prelight trees whose lights will continue to work? How long can you expect a tree's lights to last?
side note: i really don't plan on spending more than $250.

What can I do next?

Martha Stewart prelit tree and whatever brand Target has. Bought both. No probs for 2-3 years. Buy it after Xmas to get 50% off and get a better tree!

We buy all our Christmas trees at Decorator's Warehouse and have been very pleased with the quality of the trees- our lights still work and our tree is more than five years old. They have beautiful Christmas displays up already. The store used to be at Bowen and Park Row but just moved into a bigger space on Pioneer Parkway (the old antique mall bldg). Go see what Decorator's Warehouse has to find a tree--also look in the star telegram-they have coupons for saving on your purchase.

Another Garden Ridge fan here! We have had our tree for almost five years and all of the lights still work. Ours is only 7 feet tall, but it is perfect for the room that we put it up in. (It definitely didn't cost more than $250 ~ not even close.)

Good luck!

I have a 9ft from Garden Ridge. This year will be our 4th with it and we've never had an issue. We've never had to replace any of the lights.

I paid around $400-$450 but they had trees in different price ranges.

I have had my 9 ft pre-lit tree for over 2 years and not had any problems with it. I got it on sale (prior to Christmas) for about $200 at Home Depot.
