I am 7 weeks pregnant i have been vomiting for the past 5 days. I have tried ginger, ginger ale, sprite, crackers, sour patch kids, lemonade, bland foods, Zofran, and phenergan. This is my second pregnancy the first was no problem at all. I talked to my doctor yesterday he sent me to the hospital and they put fluids back in me ad gave me Zofran and phenergan by i.v. but i still was vomiting. The hospital told me i could stay in there for 5 more weeks till my second trimester but i wanted to go home so they told me to come back ever week for an i.v. I don't want to have to go through all that. Please can someone please help me.

What can I do next?

There is no help, you reall are going to have to suffer through Hyperemesis Gravidarum. My litttle sister had it twice with her kids , unfortunately there is nothing but anti nausea meds. If you terminate the pregnancy that will do it. Other than that, good luck!!

I went through the same thing with my second pregnancy. Wound up in the hospital with IV's and a feeding tube. I could not keep anything, including water, down. the only thing that helped at all was prenatals with an anti-nausea med in it. I can't remember what it was called. Please stay on top of it! It is NO FUN to be that sick!

Vitamin B really helped me. I had the kind that you put under your toungue and they melt. And potassium is good too. It's worth a try! Good luck to you!

maybe change your prenatals... mine made me sick too... also, babies r us and most maternity stores sell preggie pops... (I was sooo sick) and they were the only thing that helped me.

Me too. In my first pregnancy, I had no nausea. But in my second, I was sick from 6 weeks until 12 weeks. Then it cleared up. Relatively nothing helped me either. It was worse if I allowed my stomach to get completely empty. Most of the time, I just dry heaved and usually did not lose any stomach contents.

You can try popsicles. Those might help with dehydration. And even though you have no appetite, keep trying to eat small meals often--regardless of whether you think you'll throw it all up. Because, even if you do, chances are you won't completely empty out all the food in your stomach.

Are you taking vitamins?
Mine made me vomit always and I end up taking the gummy bears instead, lol..
Also my mom drink coca cola (I don't remember if she also add lime or not) and that helps, give it a try.
Keep your self hydrated even with gatorade.
It will pass soon, my first pregnancy was soo easy, my second one was like that in the first semester but it got better by the end of the second.

Found this web site that talks about what you can do. Also my daughter was sick for several weeks when she first got pregnant. She finally told her doctor and he put her on a prescription and it helped completely. Ask your doctor and see if he can prescribe something to help.
Good Luck!

Which prenatals are you taking? That is what really killed me. I was still sick all through out my pregnancy, (like drop out of school and quit work because I was able to go an hour with out throwing up, and so much pain to stand longer than 5 minutes) but when I stopped taking prenatals and started taking Flinstone vitamins it wasn't as bad. I tried just about every prenatal pill to see if there was one I could take.
Have you tried raspberries? That helped my sister out with her morning sickness. It didn't help me at all. Popcycles helped keep my hydrated, small meals and LOTS of sleep.

I just answered another Q about pregnancy sickness , I feel for you and know exactly what you are going through. Like I said in the other post , for me dairy made my sickness much worse so I took that out of my diet and felt alot better , maybe try that.

Good luck

With my only pregnancy, I was sick from about five weeks until the day after the baby was born. I tried quite a few home remedies; they did nothing for me from the second trimester on. The doctor wanted to put me in the hospital, but decided to try the phenergan and zofran first. At first, they didn't really work for me, either, but I kept at it until I figured out the right schedule and dosage. For me it worked to take 4mg zofran in the morning (not at night) and then take the phenergan (don't know the dosage) before bed. This did not completely stop the nausea and vomiting, but got it under control enough that I could at least get out of bed, and occasionally get out of the house. I really want to encourage you that this is just a short time and you will get through it even though it is tough. As far as what foods you can keep down, I think it is different for everyone. For me dairy was good and I ate a lot of ice cream. Just keep trying until you find what helps you, and try above all to keep hydrated and keep eating, even if you think you won't keep it down. A couple of things I have not seen mentioned here are the wristbands (didn't work for me) and an audio cd which I did not try but it was advertised in 2007 when I was pregnant--I wish I had ordered it but I kept thinking that by the time I got it I would no longer need it, little did I know! I'm not sure what it was called but I think you'll find it if you google "morning sickness." Good luck to you, I hope you find some relief!

Yep, I know what you are going through. It sucks. *big hugs* I had this with my first child. Please ask your doctor to test you for Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). I hope you just have bad morning sickness, in which case you'll be right as rain in 2 more weeks.

Here is the website for the Hyperemesis Foundation: http://www.helpher.org/

Good Luck!

Have you tried peppermint at all? That was what helped me...had to have the starlight mints in my mouth at all times.. Also, you may want to try keeping a glass of water and a few saltines by the bed to eat BEFORE you even roll over in bed in the morning to get up. Popcicles can be your best friend right now, too. Hope you feel better soon!

I was sick the entire time with my first pregnany...literally from the day I got pregnant until the second she was born (even while pushing!!) I took Flinstones for vitamins and ate ginger snaps a lot. But that didn't really work. I don't remember the medication I was on, but that helped some too. It really was just a rough nine months, but I had two kid after. You'll be okay once baby comes! Good luck!

With my first pregency, I was sick for the first 10 weeks. My mom said eat a cracker before your feet hit floor every morning. That didn't work. This may sound odd, but for me eating tart fruit helped. I lived on plums and oranges for ten weeks. That was the only food I could keep down. At this point, it wouldn't hurt to try.

With BOTH my pregnancies... I had MEGA morning sickness... ALL day, PLUS I had migraines. For up to 4 months. I tried to endure it... but
The ONLY thing that helped me, and per my OB/GYN's suggestion, was acupuncture.
Just 1 half hour session, was all it took.
It does not hurt, and is in fact very relaxing.

See an Acupunturist, that handles pregnant women.

all the best, I highly recommend this,
Susan

Move slowly first thing when waking up. Eat saltines and ginger ale or clear carbonated fluids. Pray. Get some emotional and spiritual back-up from family and friends. Eat many small meals throughout the day if possible. Stay hydrated. Milk does a body good!

I had terrible, all-day sickness from about week 6 to 12. I listened to all the advice about bland foods (plain cheerios, saltines, ginger snaps, sprite, etc.) which all helped in the sense that those were the only things I could sometimes keep down, but the one thing that made all the difference in the world was to NEVER let my stomach sit empty. Seriously. I am the kind of person that can't fall asleep without brushing her teeth, so the idea of keeping crackers on the nightstand to munch on when I roll over and wake up in the middle of the night was hard for me to accept, but it was what made getting out of bed the next morning possible. Don't let your feet hit the floor without atleast ONE cracker! Everytime I forgot or got lazy about keeping a little starch in my tummy, I got a bout of hours-long stomach pain and nausea. How often you eat is every bit as important as what you eat. I hope you find something that makes you feel better!

Try eating more protien like yogurt and milk products. Eating yogurt before going to bed and eat something when you get up. My daughter has gone from 120 to 114 in 15 weeks but is getting better. She can keep down milk with chocolet Olvoteen (ms) in it which gives her more vitamins. Also DO NOT take the pre-natal on an empty stomace! Do not over eat also. Snaking all day or eating 6 times a day might help. When your surgar level drops you will get sick.

Also she does not take the prenatails she take flinstone so she can take them in the morning and night so no hight doesage at once and that has helper her.
