Pregnant or Not? - Albuquerque, NM

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a while and this month I am late. Still no period-I was supposed to get it 5 days ago and I'm normally on time-never late by more than 1 day. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and both say I'm not pregnant. But I still think I am. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I take another test? Should I see my doctor? Not sure what to do at this point.
Thanks for your help!

HEy R.,
I dont have an answer for your question, but I noticed you would like to find playgroups for your son. Have you tried meetup.com? There are several Stay at Home Mom groups in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho that meet often to have their children socialize and mommies get to talk to adults :) Hope this helps!

Wait at least 17 days from the last time you had sex and that should give you pretty reliable results. Remember that the stress of hoping you're pregnant can sometimes stop your period.

Hi R.,

I was on birth control with no plans on having another baby. I had my period still but just knew something was up. I must have taken 10 pregnancy tests, all with negative results. I finally decided to go to the doctor. Sure enough I was 13 weeks pregnant with Lilly Faith (now 9 1/2 months old)!!!

I say you might as well make sure, go to the doctor!

The only way to be sure is to get a blood pregnancy test. Often the at home tests and urine tests done in doctor's offices can have false negatives. Especially if you are trying to get pregnant, even some period like bleeding does not mean you are not pregnant. Best to see the doc for sure! Good luck!

5 days late is too early to take a pregnancy test. It takes a while to have he hormone levels to get a strong positive on one of those things. If you went to your doctor they would probably be able to do an ultrasound to see if you are pregnant. Or you could wait a little longer and try the home pregnancy test again.
