Pregnant and Spotting for over 2 weeks....has This Ever Happened to Anyone Else

I spotted and due to the size of my sac via sonogram my doctor advised me I was going to lose the baby and to expect a period. In the end, I had a beautiful baby girl! Don't worry until you have hard facts.

I am 70 years old now and I spotted with number 3. That was the easiest pregnancy I had. Was in labor for about 45 minutes. In fact I lived in a small town and was delivering before the doctor made it to the hospital. Good luck, things will be fine.

Have you asked your doc what are the hormone levels and are they where they should be? I have had 2 miscarriages and 3 healthy baby girls. The last two I spotted around the 9 to the 12 week, since I had already had two miscarriages I was freaking out. Come to find out my hormone levels were not where they needed to be to help the babies. I had to receive pergestrone shots (NOT FUN!) and had to be placed on bed rest till the hormones kicked in.
The first two miscarriages were with a different doctor and the second doctor was the one that noticed it. I was also about the same age as your self with the second one, but I was early 20's with the first one. I do not know if any one else has had this problem but I thought I would share, so ask your doc the next time you go in for a check up what the levels are.

I spotted during both of my pregnancies. I ended up miscarrying the first one, but there was never a heartbeat. With the second, I spotted every week until I was 21 weeks pregnant and sometimes it was bright red. It was scary and I was put on bed rest at about week 15 but only for a few days. I now have a 13 month old boy who was actually born a week after his due date.

I did this with both of my pregancies. I actually passed clots as big as golf balls and just knew for sure that I had miscarried our twins. Instead, I had a subchorionic hemmorage both times. Basically, with the babies implanted into the uterine wall, they hit a blood vessel and that's what caused the bleeding. Each time I spotted for the 1st trimester. Each sonogram was sweet relief to see those precious little hearts beating. Most of the time this is more worrisome than bothersome because the body will absorb the clot.

Now I have 2 beautiful sets of twins, 3 1/2 years old and 5 months old. They were perfect pregancies otherwise with text book deliveries. All the babies were perfectly happy, healthy and whole. I pray your little one is as well.

I spotted with my son, now almost 3. It freaked me out. It started with implantation bleeding. I thought I started my period. I used up one pad and put another on. We were out of town and I wore one for two days waiting for my period to set in. It didn't, and I took a pregnancy test, which came back positive.

When I started spotting I was freaking out big time. I was also constipated so I couldn't tell if I was cramping from a miscarriage or the constipation. Went to the doc several times and everything was fine. Mainly pay attention if it's bright red. It turns out to be pretty common. My doc ordered no vigorous exercise or sex. I had a beautiful, healthy pregnancy and a very healthy baby boy.

When I was in my tenth week of pregnancy with my first babies ( I have twins) I had a full period, and it was heavy I thought I was miscarrying, but I had done too much the day before and I had to get off of my feet and rest the rest of the pregnancy.
Resting will help alot, but I also know it is hard to rest, because I too am a stay at home mom of 16 month old twins(biy & girl) and I have a 5 month old baby daughter also.
So I know it is tough. Will keep you in my prayers.

I'm pregnant with my second baby and I spotted from week 3 though week 8 on and off, and everything is fine with the pregnancy. I also spotted at least 3 different times with my daughter and she was/is very healthy. Try not to let it worry you too much. Trust your instinct. If you feel like something is wrong talk to you doctor.

Hi K., I spotted ALOT all during the first trimester, and had a wonderful healthy boy in May. I even bled pretty heavily once, and there wasn't anything wrong. Just have the doc keep an eye on things, but I never had any problems.

I spotted badly with my three pregnancies to the point that I thought I was miscarrying too, but only to find out that I was pregnant with twins. This can be a sign of twins while pregnant!! I have 5 healthy children and your doctor should give you an ultrasound to alleviate your fear especially since you just gave birth to another child a little over a year ago.

Congrats on the new babe!

I had spotting with my daughter. I was on vacation in the UK and was freaking out. Luckily, a friend of our attending the same music convention told me that she spotted with all five of her children and only to get worried if it's bright red or heavy.

If any changes occur in the color or heaviness, call your doc! Since you're having regular visits with your OB and they're aware of the situation you're probably okay. :)

Isn't it funny how medicine still doesn't understand all the complexities of the female body and all it's wonderful functions?

I know that spotting can be normal as the sac attatches to the uterine wall. There may be a place where it detatched again and left some vessels open. I would say as long as you don't have cramping you should be fine. Good luck.

I had that with my second pregnancy. The doctor put me on bed rest for a few days and had me take it easy after that. My son was 21 last week. Follow advice and take it easy physically.

I kept thinking I was pregnant (I was trying) but then I would have a very light period and think- no....it wasn't constant spotting but spotting around when I should have had my period. Finally it stopped- after 3 months- and I actually "missed" a period- and did the preg test. Voila! I was pregnant and made an appt for that first 8wk visit. Turns out I was 14 weeks along...which made for one very nice,VERY short pregnancy. (Hate me- it was my third-I always had easy pregnancies and no morning sickness.)It was hard to see the whole baby/sac on the ultrasound that first visit because she was completely developed at that point (so much for those early prenatal visits...). Anyway -when I delivered there was a double placenta- a sign that my third had actually been my third and fourth originally. She had probably been a twin and I miscarried the other baby-which explains the spotting. Since I had that one perfect healthy baby, finding out at delivery that there might have been two was not too upsetting.I have a friend who went thru the same thing- altho she was SURE she had miscarried- and then went on to have a perfectly healthy child from that same pregnancy. So spotting can mean lots of things- and can still result in a perfectly healthy baby. In fact - my third one is the most tenacious.....

Good news- it's normal! My sister was having weird periods and after three months she found out she's pregnant. She's SUPPOSEDLY 7 weeks but her belly is showing at about 18 weeks and the baby is keeping her up at night. LOL So obviously she's not 7 weeks. She hasn't had an U/S yet though so we'll see.

Yes, I spotted and at times bleed pretty heavily during about the same time of my first pregnancy. My doctor did sonograms and the baby was fine. My doctor had me stop exercising and said not to have sex for the first three months. The spotting lasted for about 3 or so weeks. I am very happy to say that my son was born perfectly healthy and happy and on time with no complications. My pregnancy, once past the three months, was a dream. As is my little boy!!

Yes, I spotted with each pregnancy (2 kids). Some days were heavier than others, but I was told not to worry unless it was bright red. I even spent some time in bed, but that made no difference. The spotting stopped at 12 weeks with both kids. The throwing up is a very good sign. My doctor down here told me that meant the baby was a keeper, because it is a good strong pregnancy in spite of the spotting. Wishing you all the best!!!! K.

I have spotted with 3 out of 5 pregnancies. The first one I miscarried, but there was never a heartbeat and the baby was not right. The other two times, I spotted off & on for weeks early in the pregnancy, and nothing was ever wrong. This last pregnancy, I was sure I must be miscarrying. It seemed like I would never stop spotting...and at least once it came out in a decent-sized gush (about a tablespoon's worth). But an ultrasound confirmed that everything was fine, and the spotting eventually stopped. It's a bit unnerving, but if the baby, it's tiny heartbeat, and the sac all look good, then I bet you are both going to be fine. Just take care of yourself.
