I am 10 1/2 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing cramps, stomach pains and bloating pretty since the very beginning. My doctors tell me it is normal. I did not experience this during my first pregnancy. Wondering if anyone else has had similar experience.

Thanks for your input.

I'm 10 1/2 weeks pregnant too! congrats :)
I've had cramping too... and the bloating is rediculous! both started early on.
The doctors told me the same thing. The only thing that isn't normal is if the cramps get really bad or if they're accompanied by bleeding (red blood is bad! brown spotting is usually ok).
Hope that helps and good luck on a happy, healthy pregnancy!

hi W., and congrats! i joke that i when i was 10 minutes pregnant with my second i was already showing! and especially my 3rd, holy cow. its just different after the first. use common sense, see your doc if you think you need to. but dont expect it to be the same. also, i am going to tell you that after you give birth it may not be the same either. i dont say this to scare you, i say it so that you wont be scared. i felt really good after delivering my first baby. then after i delivered my second, for the next few days i had more pain in my belly. at first i was really scared, i thought something was wrong with me. then a couple of the nurses finally told me that it was to be expected, and i relaxed and took an extra motrin and all was well. i just wished someone had told me to expect that. best of luck to you, enjoy your pregnancy :)

Congratulations, W.!! I am happy for you!! Anyways, every one of my pregnancies were different and I always blow up like a balloon once I hit 6 weeks. I don't know why but it was like that with all three of my pregnancies and I cramped earlier with each time I got pregnant. I will pray for you that you have a healthy pregnancy and let us know when you do have that precious child. I'll be interested in knowing what the sex of the baby. Again, God bless you!! Congratulations.

Hi W.,

First off congratulations. I am a nurse. Just as long as you do not have any bleeding you should be fine. The cramp could be that your uterus is expanding. I had that in all of my pregnancies. Stomach pain could be just of all the hormones and possibly morning sickness. Normally if anything bad would happen it would transpire before the 12 wk. Miscarriages rarely happen after the 13 wk. I hope this helps you.

listen to your doctor. I had the same with my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy. this is when they say the sac attaches or something you may even spot ( I did) scared me to death! Just take it easy and listen to your body. If you are crampy, RELAX! I am sure all is fine.
Best wishes!

Hi W.,
I did not have all of the symptoms you have. However, I will tell you that felt really good with my first pregnancy, but I felt horrible with my second. I have a sister who has four children and she says that she had different issues with each pregnancy. What you are feeling is probably nothing abnormal, however any pain worse than discomfort or bleeding should be reported to your doctor immediately.
Best wishes on a healthy pregnancy and baby.

Congratulations W.!
Every pregnancy is different. My first one was fairly easy and my second was very hard! As long as your Dr. says it's ok (and you trust him/her) than it's fine. Best wishes to you and your new little someone!

Congratulations!
I am also pregnant with my second ( with several miscarriages in between) and I can testify that each pregnancy is completely different. I am 14.5 weeks along and I was so bloated at 8-10 weeks, that I am actually smaller belly-wise now then I was then! I had to wear maternity clothes for those few weeks then I went back to regular clothes and now I am just staring to need them again. My first pregnancy I wasn't wearing maternity until 6 months! The doctor told me that the bloating is considered a good reaction to pregnancy hormones, and is actually a good sign in the early weeks of pregnancy.
I am also experiencing more cramping and round ligament pain, i think its because the muscles holding my belly are looser and are stretching out more than last time.
There is no need to be worried... with all of my miscarriages there was spotting first, then HEAVY cramping, almost like labor pains, then heavy bleeding. What your describing sounds like a normal healthy pregnancy with a growing baby!

Best of Luck!

I'm @ 28wks...and this is my first. Yes, I've had all those symptoms since 10th week. People told me it's normal. Maybe you got lucky during your 1st pregnancy!

I did & only with my 2nd pregnancy. It was kind of like I was getting my period each month as far as symptoms, but no period. There was a point that I would get nervous about it but my doctor assured me that it wasn't anything abnormal. He also said that w/#2 our bodies are already going to go through things at what seems a faster pace or we'll notice things quicker then we did with our first. Hang in there!
