I hate to ask this but is it true that there is a high pregnancy rate in Antelope Crossing Middle School? AND high drug use?
I know both happen at all levels of school meaning private and public schools, but this made me sick to my stomache. How do I find out about topics such as these in schools in the area?
Thank you!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I'll definately let all know. She starts around August 10th. I did try to research and all I found was very good academically.

Thank you all!

WHAT?????
Gosh, i hope not....My daughter is 13,going in to 8th grade @ Foothill's Jr high. I have not heard of any of these types of problems at her school but we are very close to that same area. My daughter did tell me about one of her firends older sisters who was pregnant last year. She was in the high school, but my daughter also expressed how STUPID she thought that girl was, saying things like"she just gave away the rest of her whole life" so...I just let it go at the time....I guess we will be talking a bit more about it again this year before school starts.
I have had a opportunity to send my daughter to a GREAT high school in the Auburn/Grass Valley area, I think I may do that.....next year?? I hate to take her away from all the friends she has gone to school with since grade school BUT I want something better for her than getting pregnant at 18, or being addicted to drugs....Let me know what you confirm, I know sometimes these are just rumors.

J.,
We went to a middle school because we were told it was the better one. Turns out, when our third child came to that age, he went to the one we were told was "bad" and had drug use. It was actually the much better of the two schools, and has proven to be much more worthy than the first school we attended. I would call your district and see what they say for checking on a schools reputation.

Hi, wow, this makes me sick. I have a daughter who will be going to creekview ranch. This will be her second year there. I have not heard of this at this school, but our sixth graders were pretty much "protected" from seventh and eighth graders during lunch and breaks. I would hope the school knows what the heck is going on and would let the parents know. I will be having a discussion with my daughter since school starts in less than a month. I would rather talk to her about movies, books, and friends, but it seems, the "sex" talk is coming. I wanted her to be innocent a little while longer.

Unfortunately it is among the middle school students along with oral sex. When my daughter went to Buljan in Roseville, she said that many kids would go behind some of the building and have oral sex and that they really didn't consider that to be sex..
