I think the issue with having one kidney isn't so much the getting pregnant part as is the stress pregnancy can put on your kidneys. So, you really should consult a nephrologist to get as much information before going down the road of trying to become pregnant. my grandmother had one kidney since birth. she had 6 children in the 1940's to the 1960's with no trouble, so i would think it shouldn't bother you that much. Good luck
It depends on your kidney issues. If you only have one kidney since birth, or you lost one to injury or donation (transplant) you should be fine, if your remaining kidney works well.
If you have kidney disease, or you lost function in one kidney to to a systemic medical condition (for example diabetes) you will need to involve your nephrologist in your pregnancy plans.
I have kidney disease running in my family, both my sister and my mother have it (it's genetic). My sister had 4 children, but due to the nature of her disease she did have some complications, especially with her last 2 pregnancies - nothing major and both children were born healthy, but she was considered high risk.
