This is going to sound like a stupid question. I am just at 12 wks and was supposed to have my first check-up w/ my doctor today to listen for the heartbeat. I had to reschedule due to weather and they can't get me in until next monday. I hate that they wait so long to listen for the heartbeat and I hate that I'm having to wait another week to get reassurance that everything is okay. I have had no cramping or bleeding, so I'm assuming all is probably okay? I had 3-4 weeks of morning sickness, so I'm sure that means things were kicking into gear in there! But now that I'm feeling better, I hate not knowing.

What can I do next?

I've never heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks appointment (I guess the way my body is shaped) so I always end up having to wait till the 16 week appointment to hear the heartbeat, so maybe waiting a little longer will actually make it easier to hear the little one!

Frustrating yes. It's hard being pregnant, but I hate to say it, even after you hear that hearbeat you're still going to have days of wondering. You have 4 weeks in between appointments (at first) and a lot of worrying can happen if you let it! Try your best to think rational thoughts, I for one had trouble with this! ;), but it really will help you to be grounded. Also, I really liked the book My Pregnancy Week by Week as opposed to What to Expect... I felt it was a better way to present the material and it was easier to read. Plus, having something every week made me keep my craziness in check!

Everything is okay...and congrats!

As long as you arent having any cramping or bleeding like you said then things are progressing well. I to had the same fear before my 12 wk appt. Be happy that your morning sickness is over and that you are feeling good. Try to do something for the baby to get your mind off of your appt. With my first I took a weekly picture and keep a short journal about what happened that week or month. Congrats.

Congrats!!! I went last Friday (the 7week,5day mark) and got to see (a blob..LOL) and hear the babies heart. It was 150 beats per minute and was awesome!!!
It won't matter when you hear it that you had to wait.. I promise!

Hi Mama
Its normal to feel like this and want the reassurance of hearing the heart beat.
Be patient, you just have to wait another fews days.
Everything sounds fine and believe me you should be thankful that your morning sickness has stopped. Lucky you,I had it all the way through.
Try to relax and enjoy!! Congrats on your pregnancy.
