I am looking for a Pre Kindergarden program for next year for my son. He does currently go to MDO twice a week. I want something with more days and a great prep for kindergarden. Any suggestions from personal experience would be great. Are church based programs the better way or should I look into a daycare facility? Looking in Lewisviile or Flower Mound. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My girls go to Lakeland Christian Academy in Lewisville. It's at Lakeland Baptist Church on Main and 35E. The school is fantastic! We've been there 3 years and my oldest is in the pre-k 4's. She goes Mon/Wed/Fri until 1 (noon on Fridays). They also have a 4 day/week and 5 day/week option for this age group. In all this time, I have never had one complaint about the school. Besides the great curriculum, they have really fun extra activities for the kids: PJ Day, field trip to the zoo, Spring Fling, among others. The school's website is www.lakelandchristianacademy.org. Good luck!

I thought going the route of a non-church based school would be better when I went looking this year for my 4 year old. I loved DKH in Highland Village if you do go that way, but the church schools are half the price and my daughter goes to Trietch Enrichment Center....LOVE it! I would call because I do know they have a lottery and waiting lists (that is how good they are). Good luck

Here's a list of MDO programs in our area (LV/FM/HV):

Personally, both of my kids went through CCDC (First United Methodist LV). I think it was a terrific program for both of them... they've been around for years (25+?) and are one of the most affordable in our area.

My two younger kids went to DKH Academy in Highland Village and they were both prepared for Kindergarten. The staff & teachers are wonderful and they do a great job on getting kids ready for school.

my son is currently enrolled at Primrose of Old Orchard. He has been there for 2 years now and he absolutely loves it. He is in their Private Pre-K program currently and I can't tell you enough good things about it. Call them ###-###-####) and talk to the Director Ashley Stogner, she can give you all the info you need. They truely are great and the teacher teaching the class this year (Mrs. Lymbery) is so great with them. I hope this helps.

My boys started Kindergarten this year and we decided to keep them in the program at Montessori Episcopal (now up to 2nd grade) in Lewisville because we love it so much. http://www.montessoriepiscopal.com/about_mes.htm

They were there for 2 years prior to Kindergarten and their teachers were awesome. They also offer "specials" that are included in the tuition, unlike another program that we were involved with before hand. They have Spanish, PE, Computer, Art and Yoga. Of course it is also church based so they have chapel once a week.

I love the Montessori way of teaching, and it has been a blessing for our children as well.

The great thing about living in this area is that you have sooo many great schools to choose from, you almost can't go wrong!
