We live in Power Ranch, however we don't have kids that are school age yet. We did move there based on what he had heard about the schools though. Even now, my neighbors say that they love the elementary school which is K-8 around here, so there is no middle school. The High School has it's good and bad and I'm not sure if it has a good drama program. You could contact the school though and they should be able to tell you. It is called Higley High School. Hope this helps.

Hello!

I am not sure about the schools in Power Ranch, but the neighborhoods and community are just wonderful! If you happen to not be pleased with the schools your children are zoned for, you can always try several of the charter schools located nearby. Power Ranch has gorgeous neighborhoods and is surrounded by grocery stores, with a great deal of shopping, malls, movies, restaurants, etc. close as well as lots more about 10-15 minutes away. Power Ranch has a lot to offer families (pools, country clubs, parks, etc.). Az is VERY different from your environment in Chicago, but I think you will be pleased with your new environment. Just remember - you swim lots and lots in Az in the summer. But the weather from October to June makes it alllll worth the summer heat! Welcome. I hope your move is an easy transition for everyone in your family, as I am sure leaving behind what you know as "home" will be difficult.

I am a Mom with 4 children. Married 10 years. Work a couple of hours here and there providing licensing for people who want to become foster care parents. AND, I live about 2 miles from the Power Ranch area.

I live in Coronado Ranch which is connected/adjacent to Power Ranch. It's a very nice neighborhood. I can't talk about the school though, as we take our kids to a top ranked Charter school in Gilbert. I imagine that you will always find some kids parroting their parents' snobiness about which neighborhood they live in, or which home builder is theirs among the dozens of home builders in the neighborhood, but for the most part, we have found that people mingle well here.
