I have tried all the potty's at Target and all of them have a rather small opening. My son is starting to train and just doesn't fit on the trainer potties.

Does anyone know of a larger potty seat and not the ones that attach to our regular toilet? I would like my son to be able to sit on it without the help of me or my husband.

Thank you,
M.

So What Happened?

I want to thank everyone for their advice. I have decided to purchase the potty that goes on ours. My neighbor will be making my son a step stool that my son and I will paint together. So, far we got the peeing down and the poop he is telling us, but when we get him on there he just farts. But, baby steps right!!!

I got my kids the dora seat that you put on the "big potty" and then we got a white non slip stool and decorated it ourselves. my oldest who is using the seat couldn't wait to use his new things.

I got ours at RightStart and it's name evades me. It is a large green and white one, that doubles as a bench when the lid is closed. My daughter is pretty tall for her age and it seems to be big enough to grow with her. www.rightstart.com
good luck

Hi M.. Wal-Mart has some good ones. I personally have the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn. Its kind of small, but it has a splash guard. But there are a couple that are bigger like the Even-Flo Premium. I would go to wal-mart and check it out. Good luck with finding one.....have you thought of babies-r-us? Go look at this page I found for you. www.toysrus.com/family When you get there, look on the left hand side of the page and find bath and potty. Click on potty and it shows you 3 pages of good potty chairs. Good luck with this. Best Wishes, T.

I remember having the same problem with my son. My husband and I ended up getting a potty seat for the top of the toilet, and it worked much better for him. That and he figured out how to take the "potty drawer" out of the potty chair, and would try and pour the pee into the toilet. Yeah, it was a big mess. So we purchased a potty seat and a stool. That solved the seat from being too small, and the pee on the floor issue.
I hope this helps!

We got a Boon Potty Bench - I liked it because it doesn't look like a regular potty seat in our bathroom and my son also uses it as a stool to brush his teeth. I'm not sure if you're looking for a wider opening or a wider place for him to sit - but it seems like it is wider than most of the potty seats. My son is 2 yrs. & 2 months old and is a big guy and he can sit on this just fine. The rubber pee guard thing is a bit of a pain as you have to push it down to pull the bottom part out to dump it and then push it back down to put it in but otherwise I really like it. Hope that helps!

It would be easiest to get the sponge bob toilet seat top at taregt and a $10 non slip stool or step. It will make it easier to transition to just the toilet.
