I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

http://store.babycenter.com/product/on+the+go+potty.do?se...

I take it everywhere with me, it is small enough for my kiddo to pooty in the car or to bag it up and throw it in the stroller or diaper bag and then I just set it up on the restroom floor so I dont have to worry about big pottys . .. also once you go through the first set of refills, I just use grocery or produce bags! I cant say enough how much I love this thing!

good luck!

We had a fold up potty seat also. It was great. Another thing we did with my daughter was (because she was afraid of the sound of flushing a public potty) we had a little potty chair we carried in our van. It was not fun to clean up afterwards, but it worked and she would sit in the back of the van and use it. But just FYI that antibacterial hand sanitizer stuff DOES NOT work. Just make sure she and you wash your hands very well with warm running water and soap. Make sure you scrub for at least 15 seconds. Sorry to sound like you need a lesson in hand washing, but I just came from a health class where we put a gel on our hands to show the germs under a black light. It was disgusting!! My group was only to use hand sanitizer and THE GERMS WERE STILL THERE!! Anyway, good luck to you.

this may sound crazy but i would get a bag together everytime we went into public with some extra clothes just in case we had an accident, a little potty seat to go on top of the regular toliet, antibacterial gel and some flushable wipes. i know that is a big bag you have to carry around but it is sooooo true when they got to go there is no waiting. i would always take him before we left to go to the store and then as soon as we got to the store and finally right before we left the store. it can be a headache but it beats changing diapers all day.

For my daughter, we had a portable potty that folded flat and had its own carry case that was small enough to carry with us. It has little bags that go over it to form the "bowl" that can be tied up and thrown away. It was great for public restrooms or even when there wasn't a restroom around. (when we were traveling) We ordered it out of a catalog.

I hold my daughter in the setting positions where she will not pee on my and let her do her business and she does not touch nothing.

There is a fold-up portable little toilet "seat" that you carry around and put down on top of the regular seat. The little portable seat makes the big seat a little smaller so your little one can relax and won't fall in... I used this when my daughters were potty training. I saw one just a little while ago at Babies R Us. I don't remember the cost exactly but I know it was under $25. It was great... folded up small enough to fit in my purse...

Good luck!

Hi Sumitra,

I just dealt with this issue and I'll tell you how I solved it. My daughter has her potty seat at home just like yours which makes the toilet seat smaller. But she was very fearful of sitting on the public potties when she didn't have her seat (she felt unstable). Using one of the paper seat covers provided by most public bathrooms, I put it down and then sat far back on the seat myself. Then I invited my daughter to sit on the seat with me in front. I know it sounds wierd, but it makes the seat smaller for your daughter and she will go! Mine did. It was only a month or so before she got more confident to sit on a toilet without her potty seat, so I didn't have to "piggy back" with her. So there you go; this is the way I got out of carrying that potty seat around with us! :D

Good Luck,
A.

It's been a long time since I've potty trained being that my youngest is 14 (hehe). But, I have a phobia against public restrooms. They now have small packages of disinfective wipes that you can carry in your purse and wipe of the seat. This is a lot easier than trying to put that paper stuff on there. Also, if you can't find a small package of disinfective wipes... just use a zip lock sandwich bag and put some in there. Then after wiping the seat.... just throw into toilet.

Like Lynn, I also had the fold up potty seat. I ordered mine from somewhere (it wasn't in stores yet) a baby magazine. It was the best thing. You could fit it in your carry bag and it had little handles on the side so even to hold on she didn't have to touch the toilet and grippers on the bottom so it didn't slide. It really made me feel better about her going to the potty. Good Luck!!

I have recently done this as we went on vacation in the middle of training - my son took a bit longer than I had anticipated!
All the below advise is great but I one thing I would like to add is to do with the automatic flushers that a lot of the public bathrooms have. The sensor height is around my sons head and this meant that everytime he moved his head to the side and away from the sensor the toilet would flush which he found very frightening. I took to carrying post-its in my handbag to put over the sensor so that it would not go off while he was using the toilet and this made things much easier.
