Potty Training - Birmingham,AL

Well, I have a little girl, (3 yrs old) so I'm not sure about the "comfort" issues previously mentioned. DD still wants to take off her pants and undies when she goes at home, but will leave them on if I put her on the "big potty" and she knows we're getting ready to leave or if we're in a public restroom. (I hold her above the potty to go in the public potty) We just had to get stern with her and tell her she COULD NOT take off her pants/panties. She cried, of course, and still will at times, but she gets over it. Of course, she was already potty trained by the time we worried about whether she kept her pants on or not. I don't know what the answer is for you, but we were very stern and simply would not let her take the clothes off.

Hey, put a long t-shirt on him. Tell him that he has to wear the shirt so he doesn't get cold. Also you could keep his clothes on and just not put underware on. Sometimes the undies bother them because they are not used to them. Shorts and a t-shirt will keep him clothed but will still make him feel naked. Good luck with your nudest. HEHE

I seriously feel your PAIN!My son also did this and still does,he's 15 yrs old!I know its a problem when you're in a hurry,but for us,WE had to adjust,leave,or prepare to leave a little early,etc.Once he was trained,and it was not easy,I actually had to wipe his butt until first grade,he HAD to make the adjustment or be very uncomfortable.We carried around wet wipes,now they have Purell,to wipe him down after going to a public restroom,usually the womens handicap stall.I really think its a comfort issue,I hope your son grows out of it,but for now,I think I'd just "bare" with it because hes already going through so much being trained,then try to make adjustments.If this is your only 'battle',you're a lucky woman!!!!!!!!

LOL OMG!! I had the same problem!! My dr, said if that's what it takes, and within 1 month he was trained!! NO more diapers... I think all boys like to be naked!!!!

My son was the same way. When he went to the bathroom everything had to come off. I don't know what kind of area you live in, so you may not be able to do what we did, but we got him to pee on a tree outside. When he went on the tree, because he was outside, he didn't try to take all of his close off. But we didn't have any niegbers for this to bother. The rest of the situations around potting was taking care of with age and time. So if all else fail just know that he will grow out of it.
