Potty for Large 2-Year-old

my daughter who is barely a 2T can it on the regular toilet (even without a kid seat although we do have tone too). If you are saying he isn't ready for the seat because you think he is too small I actually think you'll be fine. If you are saying he isn't ready in the training process I get that.

I know you were looking for a potty seat and thats not what any of us are suggesting, so I apologize. But for me...I do home childcare, and no matter what size they are...I use a potty seat as little as possible as its another thing for me to clean and move from here to the there and might drip pee or whatever. When I have up to 7 other children under kindertgarten age to work with at the same time, I need to remove those extras.

I can tell you that I have no children in my home over age 2.5 who are NOT trained and typically are closer to 2nd birthdays..so I get them all sizes. Boys almost always do the sitting backwards thing. It puts their hips are in a great position (or they can easily be taught to tilt them a bit) to pee downwards and they can see what they are doing (I encourage them to "make bubbles)..their bottoms are held up by the toilet seat so they don't feel like they are falling in, etc. Its a good progression to eventually standing up...facing the right direction already!

Step stool and seat on the big potty is probably your best bet. he is tall enough, and some of the seats from the little potties transition right to the big potty (and have handles). If he is ready to start potty training, he is probably OK with the big potty. My daughter is on the other end of the spectrum (and I worry about her falling through the baby seat), but she prefers the big toilet.

I dont have a seat recommendation but when my son was 2 1/2 he trained on the regular potty with a small Kid seat attached. It really is the best way to learn. Your 2 1/2 year old is bigger than my 4 year old so a regular potty should be the right size.

I used the Baby Bjorn potty chair... my kids are big too. It was fine for them.

We replaced our regular toilet seat with one by a company called Bemis that has a toddler seat built right in. Every one of my friends who has seen it has run out and bought one, too! Google "Bemis child toilet seat" and it will bring it up.

my 2 1/2 yr old is the size of yours and refuses potty chairs but ihave tried him backwards on the toilet with a little more luck. he isnt quite ready yet but he doesnt scream as much sitting on the toilet backwards as a potty chair.

There won't be a toddler potty system that big; they're all pretty small. I would try the kid seats that go on the regular potty. That's what we used with both kids. Just put a step stool by the toilet and he can get up there no problem.

My son never used a potty,just as a seat on the toilet. I know you said he is not ready for this yet but maybe try for another while.Also showing him to pee standing up might help.

you could try a seat on a regular toilet... my son started training at one and a half (he's now 4) and never used a potty. He always sat on a seat attached to our regular toilet.
