Potty Chair for Boys

Hi,
My son is two and he just started using the potty. He is using the portable potty with a cup and a lip on the front; this worked fine for my daughter but isn't make the grade with my son. He gets urine on the front as all of "it" just doesn't fit in and he has to push it against the lip of the cup. Any suggestions for a good potty portable seat to use that doesn't have that and works good for boys? Thanks much
T.

I had the same problem as my older child is a girl (6) and her potties did not work for my son. I got the Bjorn potty and it is wonderful. He can sit on it easily without having to stradle the protector thing. He really likes it too. It's no frills, but works great.

And, if you want any advice, I'm a proponent of the sit down method for boys. Standing up for a 2 1/2 year old just gives him to much "creativity." Good luck

Definitely the Bjorn potty. It's just 9.99 at Babies R Us. It's one piece of molded plastic, so no REMOVABLE guard which was a stupid invention in my opinion because my older boy would immediately take off the guard and play with it since it is so easily removable...plus the little guard was not made for comfort with the ridged edges. The bjorn potty is so much more naturally comfortable being just one molded plastic piece, and it also makes it so easy to clean! Definitely the best potty for boys in my opinion!

Hello!
I have not heard any pros or cons on this, but at Walmart there is a small urinal , its called-Peter Potty Flushing Toddler Urinal. Maybe this would work.

The Bjorn is definitely the best....for boys or girl. They have a $10 and a $30. The $10 is smaller and is one piece. The $30 has a removable bowl. I also bought my son the "Peter Potty" which is a small version of a urinal. I got it at Walmart. I think it was around $35.

We got 2 kinds of bjorn. And really prefer the one with removable "bowl" - it makes it easier to clean and it sits a tad taller.

Hi T., I'm in a similiar situation right now but I make my son sit to go to the potty (even if it's pee). It's been a slow process but I think he finallly got that he has to push his pipi down so the pee doesn't go everywhere.
Hope this helps...

I know which potty you are talking about! My son had the same problem! Way to small. We are now using the cushioned toilet seat that fits on top of a regular toilet seat and it works great. We put a stool in front of the toilet so he can climb up there by himself. Good luck!

Hi T.,

It might be easier to just teach your son to stand up to pee. I am not sure of those front guards are removable or not. I have seen training urinals as well, and those seem like a good idea.
