Unless its heavy bleeding (lochia), you shouldn't worry. It should be very light at this point. More annoying than anything. Some women bleed until after their 6wk appointment. Good luck and congratulations.

By 10 days after giving birth, the lochia should only be slightly pink or even clear. It can be possible, however to have some bleeding up to 6 weeks. Breast feeding can influence this flow. Do you have a post-partum check-up scheduled with your gynecologist? Usually, you should follow up with gyne at 6 weeks. If you have heavy bleeding, call MD and get in right away. If you are overdoing things by doing too much housework, lifting, bending, engaging in intercourse before 6 weeks, etc, this can also influence the bleeding. Rest. Rest. Rest. Is there a foul odor or yellow discharge? this can indicate infection. Still, you may have pockets of blood in your uterus and need assistance to stop the bleeding (low-dose birth control pills maybe). Call your Doc to make an appt.

I bled for over two months. They had put my IUD in at 6 weeks and said not to worry about the bleeding. When I took my little girl in for her 2 month checkup, I told them I was still bleeding and they gave me BC to regulate my hormones. It just takes time. But you should have an appointment with your doctor soon and he'll check you over to make sure you're ok and you should voice your concern to him/her.

hi. The discharge you are having, Lochia, can last up to six weeks and will increase with heavy activity. Hang in there, it's almost gone.

Hi N.-
As long as it's getting gradually lighter and not too heavy, it is normal. I remember I still had some very light lokia at my 6 week check-up. I believe it stopped shortly after that.

Mine lasted about 6 weeks. If you are breast-feeding it lasts longer than the norm. You should be tailing the end of the annoying part of post-partum recovery!

Hi!

I am actually pregnant with my first due in 3 weeks on December 3rd. So I can't tell you from personal expierance, however, I have a friend that I just spoke with today who has an 8 week old baby. ANd she told me today that she has just now finally stopped bleeding as of yesterday! So thats 8 weeks for her. Not heavy, just spotting and enough that she has to constantly wear a panty liner.

Hope that makes you feel a little better! I think you are normal!

Just be patient, it could take you a few more weeks. Mention it to your doctor, but as long as it's getting lighter I wouldn't worry. It's pretty normal. Congrats on your little one.

After I had my first child I had to reschedule my 6 week checkup for an 8 week one because I was still bleeding. It depends on your body and as long as you don't have any symptoms of an infection it can be normal.

It varies for everyone. With my first one I bled the whole 6 weeks after, with my 2nd child it was only approximatly 3 weeks and with my 3rd who is now 2 months old it was 4 weeks I stopped for 2 days and then turned around and had my first period which lasted 7 days. So this just shows that everyone and every pregnancy it different. But I feel for you because I was sick of it by the 2nd weeek so I know how you feel hopefully it will get better for you soon and end.

5 is perfectly normal... usually it last 8 weeks or so..sometimes even 12. As long as it continues to become paler and doesn't develop an odor, you have nothing to worry about

As long as you are not passing large clots, not running a fever, not noticing a foul odor and it's getting lighter it's normal to bleed this long. If you are a pretty active person, it can also make the bleeding last longer/be slightly heavier. If you are at all feeling rundown, tired or like you are doing too much; sit down & just rest. You just brought a whole, new, perfect little person into the world; you and your body deserve to take it easy for sometime.
Best wishes
