I am confused, need some advice! I got my period on the 1st May till 6th May. My cycle days are normally 30 to 32. On the 27th morning, i tested my urine and had a positive result, again on the 28th I did another test to confirm it and it still showed positive. But on the 31st, I got my period. I am so confused...is this normal? I had a miscarriage 7 months ago. Has anyone experience my situation before?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Dear All,

Thank you so much for the feedback. I did a home test and it showed negative. Scheduled an appointment with my doctor on Monday. Again, THANK YOU TO ALL!

Did you take another test after you started bleeding? If not take one and see what it says. If it's negative you probably had a chemical pregnancy. It happened to me a couple months ago, I tested positive and then started my period a week later and had a negative test. The good news is I got pregnant my very next cycle. Good luck!

It could be implantation bleeding, but if it is normal period bleeding or heavier it could be a sign of tubal pregnancy. This happened to a friend of mine. I would check with you OB as soon as you can.

Could it be from the implantation? I would make an appt with your obgyn and have them confirm the pregnancy. Good luck to you! -hug-

While you *don't* get your period while pregnant (having a period means that no egg was fertilized and your body is shedding the uterine lining) but some women experience bleeding in early pregnancy or throughout their pregnancy for a variety of reasons. Some serious, some no problem. I had bleeding around 6-7 weeks that could have potentially continued thru my entire pregnancy. I was very glad that it didn't and the problem was able to resolve itselft.
I would contact my doctor and go in. They may want to do bloodwork and a transvaginal ultrasound. Best to you.

I bled early on in my first pregnancy and this is what my doc told me. Although it is fairly common for women to bleed while pregnant it is not normal and it needs to be checked out because something is going on. So you either were just barely pregnant and you lost it and are now having a real period or it's something else.....like placenta previa or I know there are other reasons you could bleed early on. The good thing is that lots of these problems go away on their own and you go on to have a normal, healthy pregnancy and baby. For me I had placenta previa and after about 3 weeks of bedrest I was fine and so was my baby. So call your doc. he will want to see you asap.

I don't think it's implantation bleeding, because you only get a positive test result after implantation already took place. The bleeding is either because you had a miscarriage (this happened to me) or there is something going on with your pregnancy. You should definitely see you OB so they can see what's happening. In my case, I took another pregnancy test a day before the bleeding began--I just wanted to enjoy seeing another positive result. But it wasn't positive that time. I had been having horrible cramps (felt like bad gas pains), so I realized that I must have miscarried. The bleeding came the next day. My OB still wanted to see me, just to make sure everything had left my uterus so there would be no infections.

Good luck!

This sort of question has been asked and answered within the last couple of days. Several mothers said that they had periods while still pregnant and delivered healthy babies.

The only time I bled during a pregnancy was when I lost a twin. It was very early in the pregnancy, similar to your timing. It wasn't a normal "period" even though it was timed around that time. An ultrasound showed the living baby alongside a second, empty sac. I would probably call to get hCG levels checked. Have you done another preg test at home? I might do that first to see what it shows. Sorry you are having this issue. I pray everything is okay.

I bled a little on and off for several weeks after I tested positive. I always thought that I was miscarrying but I wasn't. However, I was having twins. The doctor could never explain what the bleeding was from.
