My son asked for a pool party for his birthday. We are in the West St. Paul area but are willing to travel to st. paul, woodbury, cottage grove etc. Any suggestions for a place with an indoor pool that has a zero depth entry?

Or.... any other ideas? We have also considered club just jump and choo choo bobs.

I second the Grove in Inver Grove Heights. It's perfect for that age group! Zero depth entry pool and a little play area. My son had his 5th birthday party there. Have fun.

Shoreview Community Center. It is cheap, has zero depth entry and has party packages available.

It might be a drive for you, but the Maple Grove Community Center has a great zero-depth pool. We've also been to a party at The Depot in downtown Mpls and it was great - very well organized and a separate party area for food. Foss Swim School also does pool parties, but I don't think any of their sites have zero-depth. Have fun!

We had an awesome pool party for our 3 year old at the West St Paul pool on Orme Street. We rented the entirre place out for our rather large group. They have a kiddie pool and a big people pool. We were allowed to bring in our own food and beverages and they kept life guards on duty. The only draw back is that you cannot rent the pool until after 5:00 pm.

The YMCA in Woodbury has a zero depth pool and a waterslide. We have been to a couple parties there and they have been well organized and fun for the kids. You can have them combined with some gym time too. I don't know for sure, but I don't think you need to be a member to have a party there.

There is also the Maplewood Community Center. They have a zero depth pool and a waterslide and it has been nice warm water when we have been there. I believe that Tropics at the Shoreview Community Center is also a zero depth environment, but we haven't been there yet.

If you go for a dry party, I would highly recommend Rising Stars in Oakdale. I have 4 kids and we have done parties all over the place and the party we had at Rising Stars was by far the best. The staff leads the kids through all kinds of activities in the gym while still giving them a bit of free choice in the activities they do. The staff member we had was so enthusiastic and really made the whole experience just a ton of fun.

The Hastings YMCA offers birthday packages-- either a pool party or combined pool/party games or gym games party.

I haven't read your other responses but my dtr went to the Grove (in Inver Grove Heights) for swim lessons and that has a great pool for parties (w/zero depth). It's off of Hway 52 and 80th.
