I had a breast lift and augmentation 2 years ago. I have silicone and I am immensely happy. I have two friends who have gone to my doctor as well, both getting silicone as well. Silicone implants are more viscous (because silicone is thicker than saline water) and therefore feel more realistic. When my husband asked my doctor, who does both saline and silicone, if he we recommend one versus the other for his wife or sister, he said silicone. I recommend going for a consult with a few doctors just to see who you like and to ask questions, compare prices, etc. My doctor is great, Ricardo Izquierdo, in Naperville. His operation facility is in Oakbrook. I have a couple more names I can give you as well of other doctors friends have gone with. Hope this helps.

Hi A.,
I did my augmentation 5 1/2 years agao and went with salene. After talking with the dr. I thought it was better just incase there was a leakage issue. The salene seemed more "natural".
Good luck with your decision!

i had my breast augmentation 13 yrs ago with saline & have had no problems. i was too scared to go with silicone back then because of all the controversy at that time. i have a friend who went to the same dr that did mine & she had it done almost a yr ago & she went with silicone. she claims the silicone is safe now & it looks & feels more natural. i have no regrets in my case. good luck:)

My doctor suggested silicone since its safer if they ever leak. I went that way and they feel totally natural, go under the muscle. Many of my friends had horror stories about the pain afterwards. The doctor I used gives you a narcotic drip, I was fine, easy recovery. He does reconstructive surgery for breast cancer patients. I would highly recommend him. Dr Fine at Northwestern ###-###-####

No. A bit of advice, though? Give some thought to what you want to be hauling around up front as you get older. I have a relative who had a breast reduction in her late 40's (DD to a C cup). When I asked her a few years ago if she was still glad she had it done, she said, "Absolutely. My only regret is that I didn't get more tissue taken out."

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I dont have them, but I want them LOL. But I would definately go with salene. I have watched tons of shows that do surgeries and I want salene implants.

I had mine done over 11 years ago. I went with salene under the muscle. They are great & so far I've never had any problems. I didn't want silicone in case I ever have one burst or leak even though many people say that the silicone feels more natural. Safety was more important to me. Be prepared for some painful recovery time.

I had mine done almost 5 years ago. My doctor recommended saline for the first implants. You have to get them redone approx. every 10 years or so, and he said after the first time, I could choose. I love the saline. I had them put under my muscle, and from my understanding if they go under the muscle, they are going to feel real no matter which you choose. Well, as real as implants can. I am thrilled with mine and after having 3 kids since, I am looking forward to the day that they are redone.
Good luck. You are going to LOVE them. I do agree that you should really research your doctor before you choose one. There are a lot of great ones out there, but like everything else, there are some not so great ones. Ask around, get reviews online, ask for references (some may give them and others may not).
