Pms After Period?

I have 3 children aged 7-2. I have been on hormonal birth control or pregnant since giving birth to my oldest up until about a year and a half ago when I had Essure coils implanted. I am now taking nothing hormonal and have relatively regular and light periods. Up until a couple months ago I had pretty regular pms signs as well. Not severe, but things I distinctly recognized. Cold chills, diarrhea/cramping, mild nausea when hungry, and a bit more sensitive emotionally. Now the past couple months I have been getting the same symptoms, but a week after my period instead of before. My own research seems to indicate this happens in some women but that it typically is much more severe than regular pms symptoms (which is not my experience) and I’ve not run across anything about it randomly switching up like this. I have not seen a doctor because I otherwise feel just fine, it is not severe enough to be debilitating, and I have no reason to believe I’m pregnant. Anyone had any similar experiences or insight?

What can I do next?

A doctor is really the best way to help you figure out why your hormones are fluctuating.

I am not familiar with the Essure coils - at all, so no idea of that could be contributing to what you are describing.

You don't mention your age. I had my kids late.

My ovulation changes in hormones is now much more noticeable than it was before kids. So if this is happening for you say on day 11 or so of your cycle, then that's what it could be (for a couple of days). My friends and sisters has this happen too.

For me, it's very similar to PMS. I would track it in relation to when you ovulate. If it happens a few days before, then you know it's likely due to changes in your cycle at that time. I would bring it up next visit.

I can't stress enough that you need to see your doctor about this.

Just because you do research or ask strangers a question, will NOT give you the REAL answers as to what is going on with YOUR body.

Please, see your OB.GYN, NOT a GP/PCP but your OB/GYN who put your Essure in.

i don't get taking the advice of strangers on the internet over a doctor.

it could be related to your Essure, but could be something else entirely.

You REALLY need to see your OB/GYN about this and have them do a blood test and examine you. No one here can do that.

I've never had an IUD so I can't tell you anything about it. I do know that it is permanent birth control. I did go to their website to see if they had any information...

good luck!

I had past period PMS for years. I figured it was what my body normally went through when the stuff was going through the cycle but the birth control had inhibited the feelings or it just happened that way as I got older.

I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.
