Hi. I wanted to see if anyone could give me a little guidance on buying a play kitchen for my 17 month old son. He takes an interest in everything that I do in the kitchen, so I thought that he may really enjoy a play kitchen. There are so many out there and I was hoping that someone might have a favorite! Thanks for your help!
P.S. If anyone is looking to sell a play kitchen let me know. I live in Crestwood. Thanks!

What can I do next?

We got this one for my daughter when she was about 16 months: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2313594. It is the perfect size for 2-3 year olds, not too big, not too small. She loves it and plays with it frequently. I would highly recommend this product for the price and overall value.

Not a problem, GET HIM A KITCHEN. My son is now 23 graduating from college in business, was a real boy, soccer player competitively for years, on scholarship in college and has just informed me he wants to go back to school for his culinary degree, and wants to open a restaurant! Way to go!!! He is a much better cook than my 25 year old daughter!!! I love getting his phone calls asking different cooking questions. What a great bond for Mom & son. Many great talks when he was in his teens in the kitchen over making dinner. Seems to let his guard down and true feelings come out. My son loves to bake too!! He has a wonderful girlfriend who loves the fact that he knows his way around the kitchen.

Hi L.- for our 2 year old son we put together a "kitchen box". It's sturdy and has a lid so it also doubles as a stove-top. It contains odds and ends from our real kitchen. He loves to play in the kitchen while my husband and I make dinner and the box can be tucked away after play so it doesn't take up a lot of room. Cheers to you for encouraging your son to be in the kitchen!

Any kitchen with doors to open and close. My son also likes buttons, so if you saw one with a microwave that has beeping buttons, thats a plus. Don't buy new...there are plenty of used ones out there. Check out craigslist, garage sales, etc. I got a great one for only $20 with dishes and food. My son loves it.

Hi! We just bought my daughter the Te-Fal kitchen from One Step Ahead at Christmas. It was affordably priced for all the stuff it comes with - a fridge, an oven, a stove that makes actual sizzling sounds, a sink with faucet, a pot rack complete with a set of pots & pans, serving and stirring spoons, cups and plates, and a blender, a coffee maker, and a toaster with little pieces of toast. You can check their website, but if I remember right, it was somewhere around $150-$175. But so many of the play kitchens out there cost that for just the stove part! Then you have to buy everything else separately. Also, we really liked that it was not girly. We plan to have another child, and if we have a boy, we wanted him to be able to use the kitchen too. This one will work perfectly! Hope this helps!

My girls have a play kitchen and loved it. They have not been using it as much lately, so I might be interested in selling it to you. (I am in Palos/Crestwood at least 2 times a week!) It's in great shape - was always inside. It is not too large, has sounds and lights up! Burners, grill, microwave, oven, cutting board and shelves. But you know now that I say I'm going to sell it, my girls will probably want to keep it!!! You can contact me ____@____.com

My son, daughter and all their friends and cousins spend a lot of time with our KidKraft Kitchen. Google it as there are many versions and prices/places to purchase them.
