I'm planning a mini vacation to Seaworld with my 2 1/2 year old. Any advice on what to take or what to do?

Instead of the stroller I was thinking of taking her radio flyer ...any thoughts??

So What Happened?

So we didn't go to Seaworld after all, we went to Florida instead with family and had a wonderful time. Our daughter enjoyed every minute of the beautiful beaches. We're planning a trip to Seaworld later in this year. Thanks for all the pointers, I'll definitely consider them when we go.

I love Seaworld, it's my favorite EVER. I've never taken my kiddos, but have fun, good luck, and wear sunscreen!! :)

If you can manage to get the radio flyer into your vehicle I say go for it. I am with Rachel D. Sea World is my fav place. I think I could sit and watch the animals all day long. I would say go to the seal lion show for sure. It is so funny!

Make sure you take her swimsuit because they have a cool splash park in the Sesame Street Bay of Play area. Lots of sunscreen and water. I would also suggest going during the week rather than on a weekend if you could manage.

About the Radio Flyer...we had our nice stroller STOLEN when we parked it to go see a show. So I would really just recommend renting one of their strollers so you don't have to worry about it. Their strollers are pretty roomy and my 2 DDs loved riding in it. They seemed clean too but being paranoid about germs I wiped it down with antibacterial cloths first.

Azul was nice but nothing beats the SHAMU ROCKS! show! My kids (almost 2 and almost 6) loved it the most. And you must must sit in the splash zone!

Have fun!!

dont miss the show AZUL. its the best part of the park. they will let you take in a small ice chest with bottled water and individual snack sized foods, like goldfish crackers. stroller is a good idea, because you'll want to find a place to take a nap.

We LOVED Seaworld! Definetly take the radio flyer, but take some sort of an umbrella or something to shield the sun. Lots of walking, lots of sunscreen, lots of water, lots of patience! :)

The is so much great information about Seaworld from mamas on this forum- do a search of the site and see if there is anything else out there that can help make your trip a good one.

Have fun!

I love Sea World! My husband and I still go out there for dates, even though the kids are teens now and do not want to go.
I would recommend stroller. If your daughter gets tired and needs a short nap, she can take it in the stroller, but not so well in the wagon. Also, the stroller will provide lots more shade for her.
Always take Large water bottle: they have water fountains all over the park for refills. Lots of sunblock, hats, sunglasses and snacks. If you go to the water park, get there within an hour of it's opening time. It the afternoons, there is a long line to get in to the water park area.
Our plan of attack used to be:
See the dolphins early, and maybe one other thing close by, then go to water park, then do shows in the afternoon when the water park is real crowded. Have fun!

We've had passes for the last several years. I have taken the stroller many times and when my daughter was 4 and older, I took the wagon. Our stroller has been through the ringer, and so has our wagon (straps broken, etc), so I never worry about it being stolen! LOL! But you have to leave it for shows and it might not be in view for swimming, so I agree with the person who said to rent one--or bring an old trashy one if you have a spare.

Make sure you have swimsuits. Check the website before you go to get the latest on what you're allowed to bring--as with any park, drinks can get expensive, so we always bring the minimum of what we're allowed in the park (last year I think it was one bottle of water per person but check in case things have changed--any sodas had to be opened already when you walked in) and that saves us a little. You can bring little baggies of snacks for babies and toddlers too, but you can't bring stuff to make a sandwich.

If you can plan for a non-weekend day when it's less crowded, it's best. It's tough to have to go to shows an hour in advance and sit there with a toddler before it begins. Last year I went over spring break and again on a weekend, and they were both very crowded, but during the week wasn't as bad. You don't have to get to shows so early if it's not crowded.

The Lagoon (swimming part) closes before the rest of the park, so check it out ahead of time so you plan it for the right time of your day.

If we get hot in the middle of the day, we like to go to the kids' area and there is a big sandbox that has a lower level, and we just sit there and chill in the shade!

On the most crowded day that we went, we had no line at lunch by going to the restaurant (I think it's the hamburger one) next to the Shamu show site while a show was going on. Just make sure you're through the line before the show lets out!
Have a great time! Sea World is a nice, clean park, and we've really enjoyed it!

i would like to know what your thoughts are for taking the wagon instead of the stroller. is it one she can sit down in with her legs bent? if not i would go for the stroller. they can sit down comfortably (with back support) and if she wanted to fall asleep they still can. I would also look into what they had for strollers. We went to a zoo and i brought my own stroller. there strollers they had were pretty nice and could zip through crowds. i would definatly look on line and see if they have any off the wall requirements. like the zoo requested no straws!!! also at the zoo if you bought a big cup you could get free refills on water or discounted prices for drinks.
