We are planning to take our 4 yr. old and 1 yr. old to Sea World in San Antonio this May and I wanted some advice from those of you that have been there before.

We are thinking about going the weekend of May 21st and 22nd- does anyone know if this is a busy weekend for Sea World?

What advice or tips do you have for us to make the day go smoothly and enjoyable? :)

Also, if you know of any good hotels in the area, that would be helpful too!

Thanks in advance!

Definitly stay near Sea World if you can so that you can leave and come back if the kids (or you :) ) need a break. When we went we spend two days at the park, one for the shows, etc. and one for the water park. The water park day we rented a private cabana which was well worth the money. They take your lunch order, have drinks on hand and you have a good home base to keep everthing you need when you have small kids. I was able to pull the curtain on the cabana and get my littlest one to take a quick nap while my husband entertained my oldest. We also did the dinner with Shamu thing - my son was a little over 4 when we went and he loved it, of course it didn't mean that much to the baby but it was still pretty fun. Have a great trip!

Hotel - Check for a hotel with free shuttle. Parking is $12 at Sea World. I went on priceline.com and bid 65 for 3star in the Sea World area. We got a great room at the Sea World Courtyard Marriott that had free shuttle but no free continental breakfast. Pool was salt water and gorgeous.
Food - I wish I had brought an ice chest full of bottled water and capri suns for the room and for the park. If I went again, I would bring goldfish, string cheese, etc. They let you bring a backpack with stuff like that for the kids into Sea World.
Tickets - Go on Sea World.com and look for Sea World Cares. You can get your kids ticket for $5 with the purchase of adult ticket
Other stuff to do - Rainforest Cafe on the Riverwalk. The zoo. Ripleys Bleieve it or Not. Wildlife Ranch at Fossil Rim.

Yay - HOW FUN!!
It's not too bad of a weekend. It is starting to get hot, but school is still in session, so it shouldn't be so bad. If you don't have a shuttle from your hotel, be sure to get there early as parking is a pain (we always pay the extra for the premium parking - we grumble about it when we do, but at the end of the day with cranky youngsters we are always happy we did).
Be careful how much food you bring in - they made me throw out any bottled water I had brought last time. They let us keep some goldfish and fruit snacks but only a few packs.
Bring or rent a double stroller, your 4 year old will get tuckered out eventually.
Do the shows first, then eat a good lunch, then hit the water park. By then everyone will be ready to cool off, and, if your kids are like mine, they won't want to leave from there, so if you try to hold off on a show till the afternoon, you may not actually make it there.
Hats are a great idea to keep everyone cool, be sure to re-apply sunscreen often. It gets hot by mid-day, but is SO much fun!!!

We are actually taking our 2 & 3 year olds to San Antonio that very weekend. We are going to do Sea World and go to the Riverwalk, and that is all the activities we have planned. Like someone else posted, I figured this would be a good time to go, since school is still in session, but it should be pretty warm.

We are staying here: http://wildoakranch.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/;jsessionid=C9... A friend of mine has stayed here & said it was great for young kids, and the reviews I read were really good too. They have water slides, a lazy river, a playground, and lots of other family-friendly things to do. It is also supposed to be very close to Sea World.
