my daughter loves Kinder Cuts! They always do a wonderful job and she is a squirmer (she gets the chills when you mess with her hair, LOL)

I took my son to get his first haircut at a place on Prospect Road. It may be a little far for you but it's the only one I know of. It's on Prospect between Laurance Expwy and Saratoga Ave, behind the See's Candies store. They have little car chairs that the kids sit in, and if your child is younger they'll put a booster seat so they are sitting securely.

I am not sure where in San Jose you are, but there is a salon called Ballon cuts on Branham Ln and Meridian Ave. It is in the Petco shopping center. Also there is another place near Winfield on Blossom Hill across from oakridge mall. Best of luck:)

Kids Salon in San Jose/Campbell. It is on Union Ave. I have taken my son there 4 or 5 times. He got his first haircut at 9 months. They have toys to play with, fun chairs to sit in, and flat screen tvs in front of each station with cartoons for the kids to watch.

Our neighborhood Great Clips cuts kids' hair. They're very inexpensive. When my grandson had his first haircut, without asking they kept a lock and taped it in a special card (Baby's First Haircut) for me to bring home to his mom.

I highly recommend Kids Salon on Union Ave. My son has a killer cow-lick and the woman there is the only person I have found who can cut his hair and not have the cow-lick stand up. She moves quickly but does a good job (I have her use scissors on my son). She has fun seats for kids to sit in....and regular chairs (which is great if your little one needs to sit on your lap). The cut costs $17 but it is worth it.

Is there a working daddy in the picture? If so why not let him take your son for the first haircut to his barber? That's what we did and I took step by step pictures from start to finish. What a nice memory that is now.
