Piggyback Question- Anyone Else?

I noticed someone asked about where they put there microwave in the kitche. I have been microwave free for a year and a half. At first it wasn't a voluntarily thing but eventually habits changed and a microwave is no longer needed.

So my question: Anyone else NOT have a microwave?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I didn't know there were so many popcorn lovers out there! :P We don't ever make popcorn (or want to make popcorn) so I don't need it for that. I have a little toaster oven I use. I use it to heat up lsome eftovers, or heat up tacos. We use out gas stove (it heats stuff up very quickly) for small snacks or leftovers we cant put in the toaster oven.

As for baked potatoes; yep those go in the oven! I usually do those with something thats already in the oven (meatloaf, BBQ chicken etc).

We have one,but barely use it. I took it away for 9 months to teach my daughter that it is possible to cook with out one, lol. Since it's been back, she's only used it a few times for reheating things.

We use ours all the time!! But we also cook in bulk and heat up leftovers for a few days. We usually use glass even if our food is stored in plastic (but not always). LOL

We also use our stovetop a lot more than our oven.

And in the summer - our grill is the main 'appliance' we use! Cook once - eat all week :)

How do you make baked potatoes?. It is too hot here to heat up the whole stove.

You cook your popcorn on the stove top? I am spoiled not having to pull out the popcorn cooker and then clean up the mess. Or pull out an appliance to air pop it.

I like reheating in the container.. Less dishes to clean..

I could live with out it.. But it is just too hot to turn on that stove in kitchen all of the time. .

We have one built in next to the oven but honestly, we don't use it much. I wonder if that will be an appliance that eventually goes away. We even make most of our popcorn on the stovetop with one of those cute little popcorn pots and put all sorts of seasonings on it as the mood dictates.

We have one but rarely use it. It is above the stove. If it wasn't there we would probably not have one at all...as we don't have much counter space as it is. My toaster over is far more useful than the microwave.

We have one ,but they are SO UNHEALTHY to use ,check out the research .
You can easily make the pop corn on the stove , much cheaper than buying the bags.

We have one, but only use it for popcorn. That is all. And I would get rid of it, because it is not healthy to use, but I can't pop good popcorn!

I have one but usually only use it to defrost things (and heat up my rice pillow! If you don't know what a rice pillow is...it is a home made version of a heating pad and is great on cold nights)

Ha! That is hilarious! People still come to my house, and say in surprise "No microwave?"

There was not a microwave in the house when we bought it. The kitchen cabinet space is limited so I refused to give up precious counter space to a microwave. I was (and am) only willing for an above the stovetop mounted microwave.

With the endless ways you can spend money on your house, microwave has just dropped off the list. We have adjusted to life without it, and I make due just fine!
