Personal Trainer in Loop or Northside Chicago And/or Nutritionist

Mamas: My husband desperately wants to get in shape and shed a few pounds. He has finally concluded (and I agree!), that he'll need some help. Can any of you recommend an excellent personal trainer who is based in the city--either in the loop or northside? Specifically, I am looking for someone who is not necessarily into the latest fitness fads; I want someone who is relatively hard core (think military boot camp like), very experienced (my husband has been working out all of his adult life), and inspirational. And here's the hard part--I'd also like to find someone who has somewhat flexible hours (if you book in advance, of course).

I am also looking for a nutritionist or someone who can give him some practical advise on how to eat right. My husband travels a lot and eats dinner out most of the week.

Can anyone help?

Hi. I have taken a few sessions from a guy at DePaul. He is just starting out as a trainer, but has been training his whole life. He is 45 and in great shape. Since he is starting, he seems to be flexible on his times. I think he may train at places other than DePaul and would probably even go to your home...

His name is Paul Roberts. Phone Number is ###-###-####. His email address is TORNANFRAY.

Tell his C. recommended him - and that right now I am feeling the pain!

I have a trainer that is excellent. He has helped me lose all of my pregnancy weight. I still use him because I love how hard he pushes me. Without it, I probably wouldn't workout as hard. His name is Troy Walker and his number is ###-###-####. He works out of a south loop location, but can meet you if you have your own gym you prefer. He generally gives a discount to the people I have referred to him, so if you are interested, let him know that I gave you his number.

Hi!
Coach Cassandra is an excellent personal trainer who works near the Fullerton eL stop and meets your requirements. I trained with her a couple years ago and have finally gotten myself to restart my training program with her. I cannot say enough good things about here - I know a few of her male clients who really like her style too.

Here's her number: ###-###-####.
She has a few group classes too - check out her web site at www.coachcassandra.com

Good luck!

I know a great trainer who is now on his own after being responsible for all of the trainers at Equinox gym (50+ trainers!) He wanted to return to one on one training, and a more flexible schedule. He is in it for all the right reasons, has a gazillion certifications, including some nutrition. If you email him he can send you a summary of qualifications and some winter package deals he just set up. He works out of a trainers only (called HiFi) gym at North and Sheffield, free parking... no noisy tecnho poser crowds... ____@____.com Good luck to you and your hubby.... it s a great time of year to start something like this!

Blockhead fitness on North and Larabee (next to the scrapbooking store) Ask for Sean. Reasonable prices. A great totally body workout, with core strengthening. It is a personal training studio, with cardio machines. He has flexiable hours, and has been training clients for a number of years. I highly recommend it.
