Period 2Wks Late and Now Have Heavy, Dark, Almost Black Bleeding

My period was 2 weeks late. I took two pregnancy tests and they were both negative. Last night I used the restroom and there was a single pinkish cloudy clot. I didn't even feel it. Today I have a full flow but it is heavier than I have ever experienced. It is very very dark red almost black. It is very thick and almost clot-like. It reminds me of my bleeding weeks after I had my baby 10 months ago. I never had bad cramps before I had my daughter and I am feeling them worse right now too. Anybody have any idea what's going on? Is this normal for a late period?

What can I do next?

It could be a sign that you had a very early term miscarriage. It also might just be more build-up because you're late. If you're in pain or worried, I'd go see the doctor.

The dark, black stuff sounds like some old stuff that needed to be shed...which actually leads me to believe it was not a miscarriage. I have been getting acupuncture for this kind of thing and have had amazing results. No more weird black or brown stuff...my periods are still quite irregular but that discharge was really annoying.

It might just be a normal heavy flow (this is what mine is like every month) or it might be a very early miscarriage. Pregnancy tests might have been negative because of low hormone levels and hence the miscarriage. I hope this isn't upsetting, but just wanted to confirm if this is what you were wondering. There isn't really anything anyone can do to confirm it at this point. I hope you feel better soon.

Check with your doctor- it sounds like a miscarriage to me..... By the time you took the test maybe your levels had dropped already.... So sorry for whatever this is...

This happened to me about 5 years ago. I was two weeks late, then started my period. It was a miscarriage for me. I went to the urgent care after almost two weeks of bleeding and clotting. They had me take a urine pregnancy test which came out negative, but when they did the blood test it confirmed what I had already know. The pinkish cloudy clot was probably the sac, when the actual miscarriage happened. Go see your doctor to confirm and see that nothing else is required, since it's an early pregnancy if indeed that is what it is.

I have had that similar discharge myself. It actually occurs about every other month for me. My doctor has said it isnt anything to worry about, but if I were you I would have it checked out for peace of mind.

It sounds like it might be hormones but I would talk to someone or even get a blood test done.
