Pediatrician Says We Can't Get MMR Shot Broken Up

My 12-month old daughter is almost due for her MMR shot and I'm very nervous about it. I've been reading up on it as much as I can but find the abundance of information confusing as there is no clear-cut answer. My pediatrician gives the shot at 15 months and said that I can hold off until 18 months if I feel more comfortable but they can't break up the shot because they are having trouble getting them in the first place. I've heard otherwise from a lot of different parents and am wondering (a) if anyone else is being told this and (b) if anyone can recommend a pediatrician in the Islip area who till give the shots separately.

What can I do next?

E.,
I heard of a doctor's office in East Islip that breaks it up. I "believe" the doctor's name is Dr. Marawala. My son just turned 2 and I haven't given it to him yet. My girlfriend's son is 3(today actually) and is starting to give him the broken up shots next week. You DO NOT have to give it to her now just because they say so. I hope this helps.

Hi neighbor!

I live in East Islip. My husband and I spoke to our pediatrican about giving seperate MMR also. He does not do it either. He also told us because it is not supplied like that anymore. My girlfriends Dr., Dr. Hill in Oakdale does give it seperatly. Good Luck!

I have not gotten the shots yet for my almost 2 year old son. I am currently with Dr. Mariwalla's office in West Islip. When I was there for his 18 month appt. they told me that they didn't have the separates in stock, that they were waiting on getting them in, but they made it seem like they regularly give them out separately for those who ask.
