I'm looking for a referral on a pediatrician that's close to Carlsbad. I just moved here from Ocean Beach, so my OBGYN is in Bankers Hill. He can serve as the pediatrician for a bit, but thats quite the haul with a sick baby. I'm due on Feb 3 so am looking to find someone rather quickly. Any help is GREATLY appreciated! Oh, also, I think I'd like a female...I hear that boys respond better to female doctors until they get into their teens.

We love El Camino Pediatrics I believe there are 11 Doctors. Both male and female, my son see's Dr.Melissa Reinhardt and just loves her. But we have seen other Docs. at this office after hours and have really been happy. We live in Escondido but there office is in Encinitas probably closer to you.

There is lots of fun things for you to do in this area once your baby arrives, IE Stroller Strides, JW Tumbles. I started the mommy & me class w/ my boys when they were 5mo old. It is a great way to meet other Moms too.

We love our pediatrician. He is part of the Childrens Primary Medical Group in Encinitas (off of El Camino Real). Doctor Neglia is wonderful with our daughter and answers any questions we have. He was also voted one of top Pediatricians in San Diego Magazine in either 05' or 06'. His office staff is professional and always calls back right away when I leave a message.
