I need a good doctor for my 3 year old in the irving area. Preferably somebody who is by appointment only & is good for people who have to pay out of pocket, as we're not insured. He only needs his yearly check up & the one I've been taking him to is walk in only so I'm there for at least 3 hours. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

we use Dr. Deitchman w/ cooks and they are great! My 2 mo old was having issues and we got rushed in on an appointment right away and they een put us in the conference room to keep us away from the other sick kids when they didnt have a room for us. We are in Irving and it's about 20 min drive to Hurst and I think they are worth it.

Well, I've had 3 friends switch to my daughter's pediatrician due to their unhappiness at their current one. Her name is Tammi Williams and her # is ###-###-####. We LOVE her. Good Luck and happy Holidays!

You did not mention what side of Irving you are on. If you border Coppell, go to Childgrove Pediatrics. I love Dr. G and Dr. Jim was just named pediatrician of the year. Very rarely is there ever a wait.

I am unfamiliar with the providers in Irving, however if you are willing to drive to Bedford. My Pediatrician is wonderful. I was on cash pay for a little while and I felt that I received the same attention and care for my child as if I did have insurance. The office visits and shots were reduced, and he worked with me on appointment times because of my lack of insurance. My provider is part of the Cook Children's Physician Network, which is a wonderful group for Tarrant County. He name is James C. Wheeler, M.D. and phone number: ###-###-#### He does work by appointment only, and I have never had to wait more then 5 mins past my appointment time to be seen. The staff is very helpful and understanding. If immediate care is needed for your child they are willing to work you into their day, even if you call 5 mins before 5pm. They also have an after hours clinic for more emerg. cases, that is for walk in, however I have never used it.

Hi D.,

I go to Charissa Meyer on the mac. Arthur at Las Colinas medical centre. (close to target) You don't have to wait long, it's app. only. I like her a lot. But she only works 2 days a week. There are 5 or 7 doctors, so in an emergency you can always go to an other doctor. I'm a self pay patient also, and she gives 20% discount. let me know if I have to send you her phone nr.

Happy holidays, I.
