I'm looking for a good Pediatric Dentist recommendations around the Lewisville area. My baby is a 1 year old and I have read they should start seeing the dentist at that young age. Also, what should I expect from the first visit? Thank you for your advise moms !!

What can I do next?

no recommendation on a dentist , but all they do is count their teeth! in my opinion its a waste of time :)

Dr. Duffy!! she is on Old Settler near the Flower Mound High School.

She has a seperate room for younger patients with a door that closes so the lil ones can run around while waiting for her to check their teeth. also she has a really fun waiting room to keep the lil ones entertained.

Dr. Duffy's staff is super nice!

I do agree with the post that says they count teeth. Dr Duffy's staff also brushed on a floride treatment. The cleanings are completely covered under our dental plan so I take my 2 year old (she has gone twice now). If you don't have coverage I would still go initally for a visit to make sure teeth are coming in ok and such, but maybe then only go once a year for a few years instead of every 6 months.

Hi! We have been going to Dental Care for Kids in Flower Mound for nearly 8 years. They are a husband/wife team that are great /both the kids and the parents. Their office staff is also wonderful. They are located on 1171 in Flower Mound between the Morris Rd & 3040 lights(next to CVS).
Don't hesitate to take them there, really.

I would call some of the pedi dentists around and ask at what age they recommend seeing a patient for the 1st time. Also check with your pedi. I asked our dentist and she said 3 is really when they start seeing patients because until then most won't cooperate and unless I was seeing some sort of problem or there was a bad breath problem, just continue brushing twice a day.

Most dentist will not see them until they are 2. When my daughter turned 2 in I took her to my dentist. They looked at her teeth. She let them brush and floss her teeth. I am sure she only did that beacause she was used to doing it at home already. At 3 they took xrays of her teeth. Every dentist is different so it is hard to say what one will do over the next. Call your dentist and see who they recomend if you want her to see a pediatric dentist. Good Luck

M.,
Dr. Jason Clapp is wonderful. He is located in Highland Village, just off 407. His number is ###-###-####. Give them a call and ask them what they do on a first visit. I don't remember...my little guy is almost 8.

Dr. Harold Simpson is a Children's DDS specialist. He is located at 4443 N. Josey Lane, Suite 180 ♦ Carrollton TX 75010 and his number is ###-###-####. Personally, I would not take my child at 1 yr old. I did not take my children until my pediatrician recommended, which was 3 yrs old. There is really not much they can do. Maybe you can call the dentist direct and get their advise. PS. Dr Smpson's office is fantastic!!! I love them!!!

I am a dental hygienist and Dr. Rozaz in Coppell is awesome. Your daughter is very young and unless there is something wrong with her teeth, they probably won't do much. As a hygienist, age 3 is a good time to start seeing the dentist. I know what the recommendation is but really how well will a 1 yr old cooperate. Just a thought.
