Pediatric Allergist - Recommendations?

we see Dr. Jennifer Kim with Children's Memorial - but she goes to the Children's annex in glenview (glenbrook Hosp) on wednesdays. 800-kids-doc

we tried another popular one in Highland Park and were not happy w/ the doc we saw. We're thrilled with Children's

Kenilworth may be a little far to travel, but Dr. Paul Detjen is on Greenbay rd in Kenilworth. I've seen him for a number of years (but I'm 30) He works with a lot of kids who seem to love him

My son (19 mos) has a ton of food and seasonal allergies and I was in the same boat as you. We found a great doctor at Associated Allergists. We see Dr. Donnell in Highland Park, but there are several locations. I really like Dr. Donnell and he communicates really good with my pediatrician. I know he's at two other locations also, but I am not sure which ones they are. There are other doctors in the practice, but I don't have personal experience with them (although I have heard Dr. Nimigata is excellent also, but it takes a lot longer to get an appt with him.) My Aunt made the rounds to all the "best" allergists in Chicago (for second opinions)and ended up back with Jim.
He is fantastic with kids. My cousin, at age 5, did not want to do the prick test to determine allergies. Jim told her that if she would do it he would give her $1 and she could could go to the candy store for jelly beans (or whatever) if it was okay with her mom. Very easy man, very laid back, and really the best at his profession.
